Av.exe/Not being able to start anything on desktop

Guys I can't start any programs that I have! It says that it doesn't know how to open the application! I have to use "Find program on web option" in order to be able to launch firefox. Can anyone help me?


Edit:I also got attacked by something claiming to be an anti-virus named AV.exe

Looks like you have a virus. What I would do is backup everything I cant replace and reformat. Or if you dont want that, run an antivirus through a boot disk to help clean your system. I recomend UBCD: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/download.html
You'll need a copy of WinXP

I have vista though. I only use AVG free anti-virus. I'm backing stuff up tomorrow.
