Howdy all.

So I migrated over to a new hard drive and I'm having some trouble with Steam. It doesn't seem to be saving information properly.

Every time I log on to eGO servers it redownloads a few files, like bandage.mpc and a few others.

Non-source games aren't actually saving game files, they disappear immediately and the game can't find them to load. Any thoughts?

Have your tried defragmenting and verifying the integrity of your cache files?

When it does that most likely its a patch error, and or it's a glitch with steam it does it to me sometimes even though I been on the servers 100+ times, and i still have to download some things, and plus eGO just "updated" there servers due to some minor glitchs. So my advice would be just wait it out and it will fix itself.

Well, I would wait it out but many of the non-multiplayer games I have have been purchased through steam. This only matter because many of them need to have a save game created every now and again, especially the turn based strategy ones.

On my other windows drive, equally updated, everything is running smooth. Save games included. I'd only use that drive, but it's about to fail on me so I need to make sure that this would be just a temporary thing.

And since everything's running fine on the older drive it's tough to me to imagine that's the case, and easier for me to imagine that I'm simply doing it wrong.

this could help

close down steam then navigate to where ever you have it install and delete the "clientregistry.blob" file and restart steam then it will take a few minuets to update a few things and everything should be working again.
