Ok so, I don't know how or why or when this happened but usually when you highlight something on your desktop in Vista or 7, it highlights as a light blue square but for some reason when I highlight my desktop in Windows 7, it shows the highlighting the way Windows XP shows it, which is just a grey dotted square with nothing inside of it. Screenshot is below. Is there a fix to this? I know it's not something major but I would like it back to normal so I can see what I highlight easier.

I know that has to do with themes, try reverting to the original Windows 7 Theme and see if it helps.

He wants it like that.

Reverting to the default theme didn't work D:

Refreshing the desktop doesn't work either

Maybe something is corrupt? I going to assume you tried restarting, but if you haven't try that.

Are you hiding your desktop icons (I don't see a recycle bin)?
If your icons are showing does it work properly?

I tried restarting already, didn't work.

And yes, I'm hiding my desktop icons. When I hover over the icons, they seem to work fine (highlights the background of the icon in blue). However, highlighting or dragging or whatever it's called still isn't showing like it's supposed to in Windows Vista/7.

Well, it's fixed now. I don't know what I did but I was tinkering with the Performance Options & it seemed to work. Thanks guys!
