I just got a new comp and i have a p55v mother board and it came with an intel(R) 82578DC Gigabit Network Connection. Im using the same modem as my old comp and I already contacted my ISP and had them run serveral test, which showed my connection is fine and modem is working as intended. But for some reason when i get on WOW im disconnected from WOW and my internet after about 10 secs. Then i have to completely power cycle my modem to re gain internet connection. I do not use a wireless modem. I have all my firewalls and anti virus programs off. I can use iexplorer fine and can play CS:S and DOD:S fine. but after a few server changes and multiple server list refreshed the same thing happens. I have all my drivers up to date. HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Thanks :)

Go into device manager and look for a "!" next to your network adapters, if there are none then its something else.

If you are using a router you may need to forward the correct ports on your router to play.

3724 TCP & UDP
6112 TCP
6881-6999 TCP

i dont have a router but thanks. I noticed that i can log onto a character that is in a VERY low populated area. But if i try to log on to one in a major city, this happens..

That's interesting. Can you log on in a low pop. area an then run to a high pop. area?

yea i can. i got on my lvl 20 and ran into a city and everything was cool. no lag everyones names were coming up fine. then i got someone to move my lvl 80 out to the middle of nowhere(basically where my lvl 20 was) and i BAM DC after 5 secs and lost internet again

One more test to more or less confirm it's the character. If you leave your level 20 in the city, can you log on to it there?

yea i can. i guess it has to do with my game cache. cuz after playin on lower lvl character for a lil while i built up my cache. now i can play my lvl 80 but its still kinda iffy. i can go into major cities but i cant logout in them. then after awhile i was able to logout in them. so it kinda fixed itself i guess. but i just wanna send out a big THANK YOU to you guys for tryin to help. It means alot.
