New mouse?

G5: weights, 1600dpi and ok amount of buttons. definitely a good buy
G500 is just a improvement on the G5. It's the same feel/design though. It has a little more room for you thumb to rest than the G5 which is really nice, has all the features of the G5 just made better.

So, the G500 is looking like the top choice right now. I like Razer mice and have heard great reviews, but they're way expensive. Too expensive. lol. And out of the two Logitech choices, G500 looks like the best choice.

The G500

However...

i use the kudos gaming mouse in black. it goes up to 5000 dpi. so really fast :P. i can also make several macro's with it, it is a very good and smooth mouse, only a bit hard to get because the mouse is made in germany orriganly.

Is there anyone in America that sells them? All I've seen are Euro sites.

If you are looking for mice, look no further.

http://www.woot.com/

I bought a $5.00 mouse there on a "Woot-Off", it has 5 buttons and works like a charm! They have a new deal everyday, and a mouse usually every week.

Hope you find one that works!

Ah...
Very nice choice.
But, must warn you,
takes up a lot of mouse pad space which calls for high sensitivity.

I had the Logitech G5 for over a year, but upgraded to the G500 several weeks ago (for no particular reason other than wanting to upgrade something), and I'm absolutely loving it.

I find that the material used on the main portion of the mouse has a much nicer feel on the G500 (as opposed to the G5's blue-cracked "tiles"). I'm also a big fan of the extra space they added to the thumb area--I feel it was much needed. It's very comfortable, and the 5000 dpi laser tech is awesome.

It has 7 buttons total (3 macro buttons on the left of the mouse, mouse 1 and 2, + and - buttons for on-the-fly DPI sensitivity switching, and obviously the scroll wheel). What I like about the scroll wheel is that there are two settings for it. One setting allows for a "friction-free" mode, meaning that you can flick the mouse wheel up or down and it will keep spinning. It comes in handy when browsing web pages or long documents. The other setting is your standard "click" wheel mode, which is useful for gaming. To switch between each mode, you just have to click a small button near the scroll wheel.

I highly recommend the G500, it's well worth the money.

Done and done! Got the G500 today, and its absolutely amazing. Thanks for all the suggestions, guys!
