Homemade 5.1 headset

Yes you can go buy some awesome headphones like this somewhere online from a company for $60-200 but if your like me and you don't have that cash for headsets but have a few old broken headset around the house you can build something cheap that's really cool!

Never really think that you can make custom headsets. I thought the only thing custom is the PC LOL.

He only spent $20? No way it sounds good. A set of ear buds that sounds good costs at least $20, probably closer to $40. Double that, add the price of the head set, and you're looking at $60 - $100.

Oh, and that isn't true 5.1, true 5.1 has different inputs for front left and front right, as well as rear left and rear right. For example, something that is supposed to happen behind and to the left of you would be loudest in the left rear speaker, with that setup it would be the same volume in left rear and right rear.

I have a 3 $100+ headsets that are broken I use to dj and you go trough a lot of them so the reason its only $20 is you going to be taking apart the broken old ones for there speakers yes it will be cheap 5.1 ?but at the same time its real 5.1 because if you have 5.1 on your mobo like i do you just have to hook it up and set it up on your computer as soon as I stop playing pirates knights and vikings i will go get the parts and start my build!

No, it is NOT real 5.1. Real 5.1 has 6 channels, front left, front right, rear left, rear right, center, and sub. The directions in the video will make an audio system that has 3 channels, front, rear, and center (Okay, it has the center doing both sub and center, so i will give you 4 channels, although it is technically still 3). Still lacking two channels (dedicated left and right), definitely not real 5.1

I have yet to see a mobo that was made within the last 6 years without some kind of system for 5.1. And if you dont you could buy a cheap 5.1 card.

It's not dealing with the motherboard.

The problem is with the headset itself.

He did specified to connect to front, left and center channel jacks, so not same inputs.

I tried it with some broken sony studio headsets

I just put the "4" extra ear buds in it but you seriously need those industrial noise canceling headsets so that you have that extra room to set the "ear buds" in the "ear phones" because the ear buds will hurt your ears after a while so I will try again with some bigger head sets and it did sound good but ventrilo kept going to the wrong back Chanel for some reason which made it very hard to here

and the dude that keep saying its not 5.1 ?
2 ear buds = 4 speakers
1 headset = 2 speakers (these 2 are also used as sub)
I have a 5.1 sound card on my mobo and the software for it came with the mobo drivers?

He's saying that's not true 5.1 because this setup only has 3 inputs. Real 5.1 has 6 inputs. The buds here only have 1 input per pair.
