I'm looking to sell my laptop, but before i do i'd like to get an idea of what you guys think it's worth.

The Laptop itself is in excelent condition. There are a few minor scratches on the lid, but nothing that affects the overall aesthetics. It is 2 years old. I am the origional owner, and i have the box it came in along with some manuals and the restore disc. The reason i would like to sell it is because i need the money.

Thank you for reading this, any responses are greatly appreciated.

*NOTE: this is not yet for sale

Looks alright to me. I wouldnt buy it personally, since im buying a netbook anyway.

if u get lucky u prob get around 400 and thats a maybe since its used but i would say u could easily get from 300-350 and prob quick on ebay or craigslist if thats something u want to do ... laptops are becoming too cheap these days to resell them just gets harder and harder ;)

Yea, the graphical specs of your laptop aren't too appealing. Brand new laptops about the same as yours if not a little worse sell for like $400 brand new now. They are getting ridiculously cheap.

You could try to make a quick buck from it like $300. Put an Ad on craiglist, im pretty sure a lot of people will call you. Though, craigslist is a lot better for cell phones. I sold my iPhone 3G 16gb white on there for $280 and the thing had a crack on it :) only the back though haha while the screen has some minor scuffs here and there. All in all, the phone was in decent condition but by all means no where near like new yet i still got $280. I kinda pushed it a bit tho haha, asked for $250 and told people i was getting higher offers so one guy went to $280.

$200-$300 computers especially PCS lose their value very quickly, and I am not saying that just because I am a mac fan either. A new PC model comes out almost everyday, and almost every week a company like HP discontinues one of their models. Also the way technology progresses computers go out of date quickly, yours has no bluetooth which really isn't a big deal but you can get a new laptop with bluetooth for about the same price as you want to sell yours. I bought an HP Dv9500 for about $2,000 it was their latest and greatest model with a 17" screen, webcam, fingerprint reader, 250gb harddrive and top of the line everything for notebooks. I sold it a year later for $900, with an external harddrive and notebook cooler. That less than half and I needed to include other things.

$400 would be the very highest you could reasonably sell it for imo. $300 is probably more reasonable.

I think 350, owing to the fact that it is used. People that walk into Best Buy pay more for a laptop not quite as decent as this. Good luck with it.

Thanks for all the responses.

Now where to sell it?

No I don't have an ebay account, but i could make one, sadly i would have no ratings so people wouldnt pay as much.

suggestions?

craigslist.com

It's free, but not exactly the safest thing. A lot of thugs lmao. I sold my iPhone via craigslist to a random person that ended up being like a gangster and i was kinda scared he was gonna just rob me and drive away in his car. Especially because he made me come over to his car. Good thing all went well and he came out of that car after i stared at him for like 5 minutes hahaha.

But yea, craigslist.com is good. You can do local only so you can arrange a pickup or something. I recommend not your house, but something like dunkin donuts where there are people. It's a lot easier because people are willing to do the deal right away and give you cash straight up, no need to worry about paying eBay like a certain percentage of money etc..but yea eBay is more safe IMO but craigslist is still better if your not stupid. Just do it in a public place like McDonalds or something to be safe.

As to iOprah. Yea Mac's retain their value a lot better. Especially Macbooks and Macbook pros. Heck, almost all apple products retain their value a lot better because they are basically in fashion right now, especially with teenagers and even adults/young adults. Same with blackberries, you can fetch a lot of money for a blackberry considering how many kids are starting to get one for BBM cuz all their friends have it.

Preferably do it in the abandoned hospital at the end of the dead end street lol. Oh and make sure they bring their "friends" and you wear your expensive watch, bring your expensive cell phone, and wear your nicest shoes. All jokes aside craigslist is a really good way to sell things without fees, also if you do it right could be safe.

1. Pay with cash, don't accept a check, or anything else for that matter.

2. Do it in a public place, like mcdonalds, or anywhere else that is a public place.

3. Bring someone with you.

4. Be prepared to answer any questions they have about it, e.g. why you're selling it etc...

dude ebay even tho u need ratings u could still post and try craigslist is always a good option try ur supermarket lol and the papers lol u always get people that look for stuff like that

Thanks for the tips.

I think i will try craigs, if that doesnt work then ebay will be next.

My dad said he might buy it off me. *crosses fingers*

Hey man I have used criagslist for all kinds of stuff sold it bought it offered service got service!
It's a pretty cool site I use to post dj ads on there and got a few gigs
I sold 2 cars on there
I bought lots of stuff from people on there I only got scammed once it was recent to lol while building this new computer i got a case, hard drive and power supply off there but only thing that worked was the case lol!

Just don't be silly on there, if you meet someone act like your at the flea market keep your ears and ears wide open so you don't get suckered and please don't go see someone at night unless you got some kind of protection with you, not to scare you or anything its just some people don't use common sense you know even though its posted all over there website. If you just have to meet that person at night go to McDonald or a gas station. Also not a good idea to invite people to your house if you just selling something like a laptop or cellphone.

I also want to sell my laptop but becuase I paid $850 for it last year from best buy
I can't just turn around and sell it for anything less than $650 which I doubt anyone wants to pay even though the software on it is worth tipple that price.

To get a good feel of what your laptop is worth go to ebay and put in the name of your laptop and you will have all the help you need with price there! I have also done a lot of selling and buying on ebay it's fun! go get you a paypal debit card its free!

your machine is going for $250-550 on there used/refurbished

Laptops always seem a bit higher on eBay than retail stores. I deal with tons of craigslist and eBay myself, you will certainly get alot of ridiculous offers from craigslist, just be firm. I have had numbskulls offer me $5000 for a $9000 vehicle for example... Your feedback will hurt what you can get for it on eBay. Maybe try to sell a few items before you sell the laptop to get a few feedback, anything you have to spare to sell, list it. PAYPAL makes buyers much more comfortable so you may also want to create an account for that. I never buy anything without paypal.

Only since its used , i would say 400 give or take. It is still a good sounding notebook. If i had not just bought 2 over the holidays, i would have taken it from you bro. Wanted another 14.1" sooo badly and they are tougher and tougher to find. I dont like AMD notebooks very much, but it would have been great.
