ok so i just moved my computer, when i tried to start it back up after i got a disk boot error, i put in the OS cd to fix it but it wont find my hard drive. its pluged in and i checked everything else.

Make sure it's enabled in the bios.

And that it's the 2nd booted device, behind CD/DVD drive.

Make sure its the slave drive under the DVD drive or whatever.

Check all cords too, i had the same problem with mine.

Should look like that.

If it's a SATA drive, try a different connector on the motherboard.

ok did what you said

got same result

pressed enter said it could not install then

OK, something isn't matching up right. There's a BSOD on a .sys file?

I can't determine WHICH system file this is due to the size of the image.
BUT, in order for it to say "There is no disk in this drive", you have something set wrong in BIOS, I'm guessing.

Because when no HDD's are present it says "No hard disk drives are present, press F8(Or Enter) to restart." not the message you're getting.

When you moved it, where did you move it from?
For instance, did you move it from tile to carpet?
Carpet to carpet? etc.

Did you open the case after you moved it and touch something on the inside or was the case closed at all times during movement?

EDIT: Also, can you confirm that it's a SATA or IDE?
Because if you have a faulty CMOS battery and you unplug the power cord from your computer your BIOS settings reset. If it's a SATA, your BIOS might be reading it in IDE-mode.

If it's IDE, SATA might be on, which is why you get the "No disk drives" messages.

EDIT2: Also, according from your images, you have the HDD in third device.
This is what I'm reading:
1) Floppy.
2) CD/DVD.
3) HDD.

Move the HDD to slot 2, and CD/DVD to 1 and Floppy to 3.

@ric. i do remember the cord being pulled by mistake before it was shut down if im understaning what ur saying its set wrong. i dont know what SATA or IDE is that must be the problem

What other options do you have other than "Hard Disk" in your BIOS?
Also, like Ric asked, do you know if your hard drive is SATA or IDE?
To check you can open you case and look at the back of the hard drive. It should have power going to it and one of these cables. If it doesn't have 2 things plugged into it, that would be your problem. It's possible that one got bumped loose when you moved the case.

Edit: Oh wow. Mega post fest. Make sure there is power and also the SATA connector plugged in.

Good. Did you try to use another SATA connector on your motherboard? Some do go defective after a period of time, or even arrive dead sometimes.

no i mean it worked 5 min before move how do i check if its running as a ide

OK, your message is saying there's no disk in the drive, right?

Switch the floppy from number 1, to number 3. Switch the CD-ROM drive to number 1 and the HDD to number 2.

Then try again, if the same error repeats, I'll continue to research until someone solves it for you or I do.

EDIT: Do you even have a floppy?

If you take any advice into action and open your computer, I must stress, BEFORE you open your computer and touch ANYTHING, place both hands on the metal chassis for at least 5 seconds to avoid ESD/EMD. You really don't want that.

EDIT2: Can you list your motherboard, please?

I actually had this problem with my SATA.

What I had to do is unplug it and plug it into another SATA connector, like above said.

Problem was fixed.

But remember my discretion as you reach inside of your computer.
