I went into work today because our backup tape drive malfunctioned. I did something stupid to break the backup process when I changed the tapes. After I thought I repaired it, it still didn't work. Without going into details I guess, I had to write an email to my boss detailing how dumb I was to cause this type of problem and it ruined my Sunday. Here's to hoping I still have a job on Monday. Woe is me.

You guys ever done something stupid on the job?

I'm about to be taking IT classes in college, hopefully I don't regret it.

Can't say I ever have though :(

When I was in elementary school, they were really cheap, and got kids to do it. Including me.

I can't be bothered with the whole story. The conclusion is, I cost them $500 in server maintenance repair fees

Haha, I'm lucky, I ate for free yesterday.

Me, my wife, and my kid ate at Burger King last night..
And the total was $20.36, right?

So I gave him a twenty dollar bill and a one dollar bill.

The guy gave me back $19.56 and I was like "Uh, sir. You gave me too much change."

So he argued with me, the best part is..

It wasn't his fault, on the receipt it said I gave him 21 dollars and he owe'd me 19 dollars and some odd change.

So we ate for free. :D

Hahaha, some Burger King employee's don't understand simple math apparently :P.

Mcdonalds gave me a 6 pack of mcnuggets instead of a 10 pack

I was in snowpants, a t shirt, and shoes, coming home from skiing. And I stood there looking like a moron because they can't find a receipt from 30 seconds before

I used to work at a service depot for a major electronics retailer. My coworker there once broke an $8000 plasma TV, smashed the whole screen. It was a complete accident though and he never got in any trouble over it. I hope your employer is as forgiving, ronpaul.

lol i was at work today .... at jfk was supposed to check visas in this amsterdam flight but 300+ passengers so i just checked half of the flight and left !!! good luck klm !!!!

You should have ordered like 40 whoppers, the machine seems to be on the fritz. Got to exploit it while you can.

In those cases I just snicker and walk away quickly......

Call me wrong but I'm very willing to take advantage of a billion-dollar franchise.

When i worked at an autoshop, i was explaining to a new guy why it was important to check where the nozzle was on a can of break cleaner and to make sure it was facing away from you before you spray it... and i spayed it in my eyes...

I'm sure he put in the register that you gave him $40 (and he didn't notice it). So he gave you back what the machine said, fully disregarding common sense.

I work at an ice cream shop. One time when my boss was gone I had to clean the slush machine. Well, in order to clean it you have to empty it first. So I had a nice 5gal bucket full of icey slush. I set it on a small ledge right by me, completely not thinking it fully. Well, it tipped over after a few seconds. All of that icey slushy mix spilled down my side and all over both shoes. Needless to say, both of my feet were numb.

While working on a golf course, landscaping and maintenance, I manage to crash a john deer truck with one of my supervisors, I ended up hurting one of my left hand fingers nerves when the glass from the window fell on my hand. I was pretty scare since replacing the window cost like $300. As bad as it sounds nothing happened, as it was my supervisors fault too!!

And my hand is better now!
