So I just bought an Insignia 42" LCD HDTV.

I didn't buy anything with it, just bought the TV.

So for those of you that have been enjoying them for awhile, what should I buy for it, watch on it (things that are particularly better in HD), anything else special. I already have my 360 with HDMI and cable. And i'm gonna be getting FF 13 Tuesday. Not much of a console gamer.

So yeah, pretty much any general direction as to what kind of things I should take advantage of with it.

Thanks!

One of my bosses bought a ps3 just for the blu-ray. He said he doesn't even know how to work it and only turns it on when one of his daughters does it for him.

Since you already own a 360, they make a blu-ray drive you can hook up to it to play blu ray disks.

My suggestion is to buy a set of surround sound speakers with a nice subwoofer if the budget allows.

Most (like 90%) of TV's that are HD and large in size are built with lesser quality speakers because the manufacturers figure that if you opt for a large HD, you are going for the home entertainment experience.

I don't think they make Blue-ray drives for the 360, they used to make HD-dvd drives for is but those were phased out.

Might want to get an upconvert DVD player.

Once I got a HDTV I pretty much rewatched my whole DVD collection, it's a completey different experience.

Ps3 blu-ray player is MUCH better than normal blu ray players.

What kind of Cable/Satellite do you have?

DirecTV's HD channels look amazing. If you're paying for the extra HD channels with whatever you have, just plug the HDMI cable into your Cable/Satellite box from the TV, and it's a completely different experience *cough football*.

You should ask your television provider if they offer a HDTV package, its usually not that much more like $5-$10 more. Then like others said maybe get a blue-ray player or Upconverting DVD player, they look great. Maybe you should get a A/V receiver too for sound, best buy has a nice 5.1 one from pioneer for a little under $200 and it has 2 HDMI ports, and sounds amazing. Heres the link for the pioneer I have. Its really nice, however if you don't get that one and you shoot for another make sure the HDMI is active not passive or pass-through. If it is all it will do is let the video go through it and not capture the sound(so you have to run it through the tv to the receiver which is stupid) so yeah. I own a company with my partner that does home theater setup if you have any questions just ask me.

PS3, i've heard that any company other than Sony for blu-ray sometimes they mess up and won't load or loads take a really long time. So if you go blu-ray go Sony weather the ps3 or just a blu-ray.
