Good Locations and Tricks Guide/Database

Hi everyone, dudemanguy here with some (hopefully) useful information.

This is going to be a compilation of tricks, locations, possibly even guides for the maps in Rush and Conquest mode. I only play Rush at the moment, but if someone would like to add things for Conquest, I'll give credit where credit is due.

I plan to keep this updated as best as possible.

The goal of this is to provide an overall challenge to everyone when I'm playing a game, if I am the only one that knows of a location that's great, how do I know how to counter it when someone finally finds it? This thread is here to share those locations and so we can find ways to counter them effectively. This will also help determine which locations are "legal" and "illegal" in regards to the people who decide what's tolerable or not; if a trick is considered intolerable, it will say so next to it and be in a different font.

I need help to make some videos showing how to jump and get to certain places if anyone is willing to help, it'd be greatly appreciated. If you've already got video of how to get somewhere and it is of decent quality, I'll put it next to the description of whatever the video is about. Credit will be given as well.

My IGN is dudemanguy, please add me if you'd like to share, show, see, or watch how a trick is performed, location is gotten to, or anything else described here, I'll do my best to help you figure out how to do it yourself.

If at any point this thread crosses into the whole "exploit this to get this before X happens" or anything along that line, it will probably be deleted or I'll ask someone to delete it; let's keep it clean too please, thanks.

Critique on layout is welcomed, I'm not the best at this, so any help is appreciated. Just trying to do something for the community in BC2 since I didn't have the capability to do so for COD4 when I played that religiously; lol.

EDIT 1:

If you'd like to report a new location or even confirm that one is working live, then post here and i'll edit this post with proper credit
Post #: Person who reported location
Post #: Person who confirmed location working live

I plan to add video to all the following location tags via youtube or some other video source.
If you would like to be in one of these videos or just want to help me out in showcasing the locations, it'd be greatly appreciated, just send me a PM on here or friend me on BC2, dudemanguy is my IGN.

1) Port valdez, the pipeline run to A (attacker side)

-spawn at assault hill to parachute
-hold (right) and (forward) to move towards the giant pipeline
-once you make this, make sure your squad is standing by to spawn on you
-haul some serious butt all the way to the small outcropping of the map where it's "safe" under the pipeline portion you can walk under.
-duck under the pipeline and move quickly to the next safe spot
-after you get here, basically just run as far as you can while weaving in and out of the "safe" zones
-tell your squad sniper to spawn on you while in a safe zone for an extremely good sniping spot for B and the building behind B
-everyone else drops down and bombs A while you head into the building behind A and across from the building behind B so they have somewhere to spawn when they die while assaulting A

2) Port Valdez, Defenders, counter to (1):

-near the edge of the starting point for the first round of objectives
-run behind the safe zone and up to the hill to get to a safe zone behind numerous trees
-have a sniper mortar the left side of the treeline for you (or do it yourself ~1.5 minutes after the round starts to nail the people heading in via (1)
-they can't see you due to brush on the hill, but you can see their feet, you can see all of B, you can see the windows in A and the building behind A (or in front of you in this case)
-You can stop a backdoor of the building behind B for your snipers and AT guys.
-you can see on top of the hill the snipers are on that is outside your safezone and they cannot see you that well due to the buildings and background covering your character
-this one's generally only for snipers, obviously

3) Arica Harbor, hummer decoy fun...

-grab hummer, tell squad to wait on spawn unless they're going to pilot the UAV
-drive straight through the tanks and cars on the left side
-staying left to avoid tank fire as best as possible, drive to the end of the enemy base and act as if you were going to go up to the tower on the hill with the hummer
-when you get to the hill, cut right very sharply and hop out, throw a grenade at the hummer to blow it up and cause some smoke to blur the enemy's line of sight
-run behind the rock that has a safe zone (this will have to be shown in the video, hard to explain)
-spawn squad there, backdoor to your heart's content.
-the reason i call this a decoy is because when you backdoor they will ALL come for you, tanks and everything; that's your teams cue to hit B as hard as possible with all the tanks and engineers you have while sniper teams C4 A as best as possible.

4) Arica Harbor, treetop sniping <3

-when you're defending OR attacking at certain objective intervals (i think the last 3 are when you can do this...)
-run to the edge of the map on the right side of the bridge if you were facing it from the attacking side. once you reach the edge, you'll see a building a bit further down the hill that has a yellow stairway leading up to a tree.
-run your squad's sniper to that tree and have him jump into the treetop, this is probably the most advantageous sniper spot in the entire level barring a few situational ones. you can cover 4 objective markers either defending or attacking from this location, as well as protect your guys vs the AT guns on the right side of the bridge.
-also, you can run in the building and run to the furthest window while hugging the right wall to stay in the safe zone while having a bit more cover (Great for ammo crates/medics feeding a sniper)

5) isles, attacking:

-once you drop the first two objectives, hug the cliff along the road and note the car that's disabled on the way.
-hop on top of the car, face the cliff, tap (forward) and (sprint) to jump onto the cliff into the outcropping.
-run all the way behind the enemy base, this will also help you manage the highly favored (6) and (7) spots the defending team has if you're a sniper.
-spawn your squad at the very back of the enemy town for some good backdooring fun ^_^

6) Isles, defending, sniper roost 1:

-along the cliff near B, there's a small outcropping; jump on to it and move beneath the tree there, people on the island can't snipe you now, but you can snipe people heading towards the town.
-this is countered very hard by a sniper using (5)

7) Isles, defending, sniper/AT guy/squad roost:

-this is undoubtedly the most advantageous "trick" in this level, hands down the best.
-a little bit behind A is a fence that is along the cliff, jump on the fence, time your sprint and jump to the cliff, run towards a tree near the stairway leading to A
-call your squad and huddle up under the tree, snipe all snipers in the brush, blow up all tanks, feed ammo/medic all behind the cover of the brush and mountainside.
-you can also use this to backdoor attackers by running to where (5) starts at and dropping down on top of them or behind them
-you cannot be seen by isle snipers, and cannot be seen by water snipers, and are rarely noticed by oncoming attackers.
-killcam hurts this location bigtime, but only if they can live long enough to get to you or you don't watch people using (5)

This game isnt intended to camp in a spot and kill ppl , it was made for having intense action and always destructive situation :). So killcam isnt bothering me.

I think the "camping" is a valid tactic for some players on some of the maps.
If you are defending a bomb site with a sniper rifle... then you are probably camping... which is a good thing for the team.

k, well here's a list of things and what i call them:

all I know is I hate when I'm playing sniper and people are crying about me being a camper.
I'm like dude I have 5 bullets and I can only shot them 1 at a time end of story lol!
