So I join the PL map server for some good "PUSH THE CART". To my surprise, my game freezes up on the beginning of the match. The first thing that pops into my head was "Oh jeez... I have to restart this game... le sigh."

Instead I walk away for a second to get something. come back, and this is what I find....

This was probably the coolest glitch I have ever had in a game... It will probably never happen again to me... but my mind has been blown.

Your graphics card is overheating or may be dead - what you're experiencing is an artifact.

EDIT: Try updating your drivers, and check if it's overheating.

It's not overheating. I checked it under load and the temp is just fine. I probably do need to up date drivers though.

I can see the low textures on the walls :P, Maybe you should update your graphics card?

Yeah, updated my Graphics card, and no more issues, but I thought it was pretty cool though.

I got similar artifacts when I had my card OC'd too much. I had almost crap my pants when TF2 froze, and a couple seconds later there's weird textures everywhere. Fixed it immediately by underclocking my card (still above stock settings of course)

I was actually hoping that it was going to go out.... then I could justify buying a new one... but its working fine so I can't.

It happened on BM once... somebody posted about it, it looked really scary!

I actually had similar artifacts when I installed a VNC server on my machine. It made for trippy gaming experiences, but not very competitive gaming. My solution: uninstall the VNC server.
