Intel's 6-core review

At the 6 cores with the HT technology, you can push a logical 12 core processor. Does it mean your game will run better? You might notice a little bit of a performance increase, but not much.

Does it constitute bragging rights? It sure does. :drool:

AMD is also coming out with a hexacore processor, however it will be of 45nm instead of Intel's 32nm. AMD does not have the technology to manufacture 32nm. In order to do this, it's traced all the way down to the MOSFETs in there. They were need to use completely different materials between the gate and substrate, one with a very high K value or dielectric constant or there will be a lot of electron tunneling going on into the substrate from the gate.

Price is $999, too much for me. Works with ALL existing X58 motherboards. Bloomfield has been a great platform. Bought my i7 920 in Feb 09 and it is still a dam fast system. Got my money's worth out of this one for a change, but no need to upgrade yet. Maybe AMD can come out with something that will lower prices, but I'm not holding my breath.
 
Im still waiting for the quad cores to come down in price. Right now im running on an intel c2d cpu, which mainly does it job, but i lack in the memory dpt. Waiting on USMC guy to ship me my win 7 os.
