We're going to be hosting the Soldier Basketball Tournament on
Saturday, April 3th, 8pm Central
Practice Sessions will be held on:
Saturday, March 13th, 8pm Central
Saturday, March 20th, 8pm Central
Saturday, March 27th, 8pm Central
How TF2 Basketball works:
There are two hoops on both ends of the map. The intel case (the ball) is located in the center of the map and once grabbed, you have to shoot yourself into the opposing hoop to score a basket/point.
Competition Rules:
Teams: You will be able to pick your own teams. Though there is a limit of 2 players per team, so you guys will be partners. Only teams may enter the tournament, so you will need to form your team beforehand. Players are allowed to be on one team, and one team only.
Allowed weapons: Only Regular rocket launchers, Shotguns, and the Shovel will be allowed. Meaning no Direct Hit, no Equalizer, no Buff Banner, and no Gunboats.
Practice sessions: Practice sessions are when we get into server and have actual practice rounds of what the tournament rounds may be like. This is to help people who aren't used to the atmosphere of Soldier Basketball and would like practice with other people. Practice sessions are not mandatory and will not prevent you from participating in the tournament. Depending on how many people come to the practice sessions will determine how long each round is. You do not need to be on a team to participate in the practice sessions.
Rocket Jumping: The most important part to this tournament is to be able to rocket jump, not only properly, but strategically. There are a few maps out there that can help improve your rocket jumping skills such as this one. You can also improve your rocket jumping skills by attending some of the practice sessions.
Tournament format: The tournament itself will follow a single elimination format. So once your team has lost, you are out of the tournament.
Rounds in the Tournament: Rounds will last up to 15 minutes and the first team to get 14 points, or has the highest score when the time runs out, wins that round.
Basic Rules
1. Regular Rocket Launcher, Shotguns, and Shovel Only
2. No Direct hit, Buff Banner, Gunboats, or Equalizer
3. 1 Flag cap= 1 Point
4. Good sportsmanship
