should i get diablo

i used to play wow, but i dont have any money anymore, i know a friend who plays diablo and he says i should try it.
so should i get it? or not?

Diablo is pretty damn fun, especially if the whole item finding/level grinding appeals to you. It's pretty cheap now too.

Diablo 3 will come out when Duke Nukem Fornever comes out.

Take a look at Torchlight or Titan's Quest. Both on Steam, and both pretty much are Diablo clones. Two totally different styles, but with a little bit of an updated UI and graphics.

Diablo 2 LOD was a BLAST for me the first time I played it. It blew my mind to be honest. But that was like 7 years ago. So if your cool with mediocre graphics, go for it. It's a great history lesson if nothing else.

I'll go with this, i have been with Diablo since it first came out, every expansion every addon, and even many different single player cheats (character editors). I have to say, everytime they come out with something new for Diablo...it is spectacular. Outstanding. Magnificent. Diablo was nice and amazing for it's time, Diablo 2 was a cornerstone for greatness, Diablo 2 Expansion added the greatest idea in Diablo ever...Evil Cow World, And now Diablo 3 is coming out, and you will see me with a copy in my hands the day it's released, or beforehand if i preorder it which i probably will.

Get Diablo 3 when it comes out.

As for your current situation buy Diablo 2 and the Expansion. It's extremely cheap so if you don't like it you won't waste your money. People hate Diablo because it has been overglorified but its graphics at the time were phenomenal and even now they are quite outstanding compared to some other games.

If your friend still has all his install discs, you can buy cd keys for the original and expansion for like $10. You will easily play your moneys worth, especially when you play with friends. Also there is going to be a ladder reset on March 23rd so there should be more people starting over and you'll have a great time going through the game with others.
