I'm switching my PC from Intel to AMD, mainly because I want to upgrade and AMD route is cheaper for me.

Rig now:
Intel Q6600 (highest O.C. is 2.7, it's an OC dud)
Sapphire Radeon 4830 (680core/925mem)
Foxconn P45 motherboard
4GBDDR2 GSkill RAM(950mhz/5-4-4-14timings)
Rosewill 550W PSU
500GB HDD with 223GB remaining

Rig soon:
Phenom II X4 955(Hopefully 4GHz)
MSi Hawk 5770 (average O.C. is 1050/1300 something like that)
MSi 790X GD45 motherboard
4GBDDR2 Gskill RAM (same but it'll be around 1000mhz with 5-5-5-15timings)
everything else the same.

Any suggestions/comments?

If you can throw it in the budget, try to get some nice DDR3 memory instead. Looks great though, you definitely wouldn't be disappointed.

the 955 does run a little hot so have a nice little cooler for it ... cuz mine stays stock at 40c ...and at my house to oc on air is impossible since its always hot

Get a 5850. The 5770 you will have to replace a lot sooner, essentialy wasting money. Also, a better power supply. They aren't that expensive and that 550w is a bad idea. Don't skimp on power.

I have a budget, too, but I think I will get a 550w PSU, so in the future I can just add in another 5770 in.

My budget was to keep it close to $400, and it will probably be the Corsair 550W PSU.

Changing rig on low budget is always a bad idea , don't forget , if you bring the crappiest comp, in 1 year you will have to replace it.

If you have Extra money, get an Ati Radeon HD 5770 or 5850. I find 5870 to be expensive.

They Support Direct X 11 so it will improve gaming.

Anyway here are some Specs :

I don't understand anything in those pages.. but I know that it is good. I found more info in the January PC Gamer magazine.

MSI Hawk is THE best 5770 you can currently buy. Hope you like it, as alot of other people seem to.
