Headset static and low recording voice.

I recently noticed that my headset has this light static noise when ever i plug them in. Also when i tested how loud the voice is transmitted over them through photostory and my voice is very quiet and hardly noticeable. When i preview my voice on photostory the static increased and makes the voice hardly noticeable. How can i get rid of this, or are my headset just blown out?

it sounds by what u described that its going bad ... most likely the wiring in the headset might be coming lose or breaking which happens alot ... best bet try it in another computer to see if its really the headset or the settings

Another issue to look at that might be causing this is whether or not your case is grounded. Make sure that you're plugged into a grounded outlet (hopefully you are...) and that your case is grounded as well.

Often times, microphone buzzing and low voice are cause by improper or lack of grounding.
