help please

ok so i just downloaded insurgency. when i go to play it it starts up normally and shuts down and i get a window that says i must run it with directx 8 or better....im running 9

i dont get it..

how do i get it working?

First... try running dxdiag and post the output.
Just do run dxdiag.exe (Windows key + R for vista and higher)

That can tell us what might be wrong.

For testing, right click on the game in the Games window of Steam, hit Properties, then hit Set Launch Options. In the dialog box, type "dxlevel -90" without the quotes. Hit OK, and launch the game. This will force the game to run in directx level 9.x.

Let us know if you get the same error
