I've been having problems lately whit my Team Fortress 2, i normally play whit a 70-100 fps rate maybe it's not much for some people but for me it's enough, well the problem is that i'm playing happily on any server and and after 20 mins or 30 my fps rate goes suddenly to 2-5 fps, i don't know why and i would appreciated someone's help:) (Forgive me if I make any spelling mistake, english is not my native language)

This can occur if any background processes on your computer start to take up CPU, like windows update, AV scanning etc.

Eww windows update.

But yeah, close any heavy applications

Ok, thanks for the help, i'll try that, also maybe it's the windows update because i haven't updated since one month and there's always a pop-up that appears saying "There are some updates ready to bla bla bla"

that could very well be it which you should keep windows updated it generally keeps things running smoothly.
but ontop of that you said it happens after about 20-30 minutes of gameplay are you sure your graphics card isn't getting overheated? or even you cpu, i know form experience because i accidentally forgot to re apply thermal grease to my cpu after replacing a bad motherboard and gamed on it and after about 30 minutes frame rates went in the crapper and eventually lead to graphic crashing and random restarts, after applying thermal grease never happened again

Im with naku on this.. overheating is a big issue in fps drops.. Suggest monitoring your card while u play.. or do a benchmark.. that will really let you know what the temps are running under a load.

I don't think so, i have bought a new motherboard and videocard one month ago, so i don't think "overheating" is the problem, also it just happens some times, but lately i'm not having issues whit team fortress 2 anymore, so maybe it's fixed now, anyway thanks for your help.

I always immediately disable window updates. Kept my XP pc alive for 8 years
