Hey guys, T-MAC here. I was just wondering about Battle Field Bad Company 2. I would like to know if there is a language filter you can turn on and off in game via the settings menu or something. I do not have the game and was wondering if anybody who has it could check and let me know. :D

:) Thanks :)

Actually there is a language filter but i think its coded inside the game so i dont think it can be turned off.

Well - i'm a little interested to see how our admining system is ganna work...

i'm a little more interested in how the system will work. For instance - the use B3 with CoD and the equivilant punkbuster - but what is there for BC2....We'll have to put Agent86 to the test again i suppose

We could use a system like bf2 admin(which is quite easy)
Its like source admin.
!k for kick
!b ban
I was a bf2 admin for a while back in the day.(Dont remember much though.)

OR

Could use something like b3 which is easy.
Since Bc2 uses pb and b3 is a good system.

Just will have to see what works with the game and the servers.

Well since ea ranked server are locked , they have to get permission to install custom admin system. But yes b3 is pretty good.

there is a filter pre installed but people are finding ways around using 1337 speak to get around the filters and still expressing their extensive vocabulary.

So Boo Yeah, there is a way around the filter?? But what does this last part you wrote mean?

And still expressing their extensive vocabulary.

Basically hes saying if you type the word different or in 1337 speak it won't get filtered. Lets say that the word Bob was filtered, I could type it 13013. or 13ob, and it wouldn't get filtered out. Or maybe just B o b, with spaces in between.

Oh ok thanks. Im just hoping someone finds a way to filter the NPC language so theres not F bombs every time a car blows up...

I tried to say thank you once after a guy revived my 3 times in a matter of 20 seconds and it cam eout as *&($*@#$$@#

The text filter while playing MP is a punkbuster thing.

OP, no I don't think you can toggle a NPC swear filter.

im pretty sure all battlefield games have done this, and its a pretty good idea, you can usually tell what curse word they are trying to say, without actually seeing it. ;)

If you turn the dialogue volume to 0 you can then avoid the voice cursing in multiplayer.

That's what i'm planning on doing Gameguy but, will it work for singleplayer too?

I'm actually very impressed by how well they've managed to break the filter.
Many times when I've been talking on the chat with peeps it always obscurely filters out perfectly suitable works because the ending of one word combined with the beginning of another spells out a swear-word or a racial slur or something. It's weird.
Also, using spaces won't help. I've seen people do that and still fail miserably.

@T-MAC - I think it will.
