Oh so here's my problem, I downloaded Speedfan 4.40 because the fan speed program for my motherboard doesn't give me enough options. When i start speedfan it detects all my fans, then it just freezes. When i mouse over it the cursor turns to the windows loading cursor, and after a min or 2 it stops responding and i have to close it. Anyone know what is causing this?

Try re-downloading and reinstalling it. If that doesn't work you could try an older version.

What older versions did you try?
What operating system are you using?
What motherboard do you have?
Which fans are plugged into which ports on your motherboard?

I tried 4.39(older) 4.40(current) and 4.41(beta). All of these had the same results.
Im using Windows 7 premium 64bit.
Motherboard: Abit AN78GS AM2 Am2+
I have a a 90mm cpu fan plugged into the cpu fan slot, a 120mm fan plugged into the sysfan slot, a 80mm plugged into the aux1, and another 8mm plugged into the aux2.

Abit AN7 boards are know to have issues with SpeedFan. Apparently there is a beta you can use.

Starting from SpeedFan 4.24 beta 16 (which will be available online shortly after this message) Abit AN7 is supported.
