What System Do You Prefer?

Which System of Measurement Do You Prefer?

This got me thinking yesterday...on just how many people dislike the Imperial System and love the Metric System.

So I want to know. Do you guys like the Imperial or Metric system? Or perhaps a little bit of both.

As seeing that I'm a young Canadian, that is being brought up (or rather trying to be brought up) on the Metric System, I like the Imperial System a LOT better....except I use Degrees Celcius.

Guess I'd be a mix of both.
 
Well the imperial system is pretty old, pretty pointless and desperately needs to be retired.

So metric for me.
 
I was on-board for metric when NASA crashed that probe into Mars due to a metric conversion error. I'm too big into space and reducing taxes to let waste like that occur for senseless reasons.

Go metric.
 
I say metric for most things. However, when measuring materials for constuction(ie renos and such) I prefer to use imperial measure.
 
metric measure is a lot less complicated, but as a carpenter im all imperial...even as a canadian.
everything is measured by imperial in construction

edit: i was mixing up imperial and metric in my head, haha...dang its been a long day

Yep. You can't beat Imperial when working with things in the machine shop also. It makes everything much easier. For example, a 1/4-20 bolt is perfect for a lot of applications I do. You can get close to that with a metric bolt but the measurements will be too long and tedious.
 
I'd have to say Imperial, because I haven't completely figured out the conversion values yet (sad, in't it?)

You silly people! Its so much easier to use :) I mean, how longs a yard? I know how long a metre is...
 
a metre is 3.281 feet
i had to look it up, i forgot...thought it was 3.261
 
Yeah, if Canada switched back to Imperial...I would be so happy.....NO MORE USLESS METRIC!

Metric System is more easier to memorize. because of the K's,M's and what not
 
dang i just noticed i was mixing up imperial/metric...ha - funny stuff
 
Imperial for small measurements (I cant imagine tabletop gaming with the metric system) but for anything larger or really small, yeah go metric.
