Ok, I am running Vista. I have 100 US Dollars to spend. I need a Sound card. At the moment I have a creative sound card and for the second time with creative it has stopped working with my mouse. The sound is Amazing (ingame and out) but for some reason every so often my mic just stops working. I am thinking about stop using Creative. I know alot about graphic cards, mobo, CPUs but I couldn't begin to talk about sound cards. Just never got into them. Now there are alot of different companies out there with so many different cards. I need a sound card that isn't going to break the bank but provide a good sound and hopefully keep my mic option.

I have one spot open for a sound card, its a PCI Express. Not a PCI express 16. Both of those spots are being used for my SLI Graphic cards.

I have looked around and asked a few people about sound cards, but the only thing they tell me is that they sound good. Which is great, but I would like to know more about them than just "They sound good". My sound card now sounds great but Creative is slow on the updates and has given up on Vista all together.

Please help,

I'm currently using my on board audio for my gaming PC. It gets the job done and sounds decent although it doesn't have all the effects Sound Blaster can provide. I don't notice a huge difference with my headset but you might have a far better headset than I'm using.

For better music quality, I'm using a Native Instruments Audio 2 connect to my Mac. It sounds amazing and is $99.
