Hey guys, as some of you may know I have played a lot of CSS in my day. So I was quite annoyed to learn my css was messing up. As of late my css has been having performance issues. I know its not my internet connection, it's like all the people and objects move at a lower fps than normal. I did a net_graph 7 and my choke it like 120... -.-

Im not a hugh technical person about rates, but I think 120 choke it bad. Also after being in game for a bit, css kicks me with a message saying something like "buffer message overflow". I've tryed reinstalling my css btw. Any help would be awesome guys!

Thanks!

Please excuse me for the late response.

Accordingly, the BOF messages tend to be a server-side problem most of the time but could also occur because in integrity of your CS:S files are off.

But in case it isn't server-side, I'm here!

Please list the following:
1) The server you're playing on when it gives you this message.
2) Do you choke that bad on ALL servers or just eGO?
3) Do you experience that message on all servers?

A buffer overflow occurs when a program or process tries to store more data in a buffer (temporary data storage area) than it was intended to hold.

Thanks for your time,
Ric.

Choke usually means that you're getting too much data from the server and cannot process it quick enough.

Lower your rates
rate 20000
cl_cmdrate 30
cl_updaterate 20

Or whatever the default CSS rates are..
