Hey y'all
I was planning a buying a new laptop in about 7-8 weeks. I wanted something that would have a good sound card (because I DJ at clubs) but I would also like something that could play BC2 at ~medium graphics without being choppy, actually, I would say more low-medium graphics. The wrong thing is that I don't want to spend more than 1200 $. And if it's possible, I would also like a small screen (13''-15'') and not too heavy :P I don't know if a laptop with all what I'm asking exist, but if it does, let me know ;P

This should do that. It has a VERY good GPU, that would have no problem with BC2 at med. Also i've heard that the sound is very good.

Sad;y iys out of your price range, by $100, but i think its worth it.

Yes, the base config will play bc2 fine. If you really want more fps, you can buy the better cpu option, but other than that, there is nothing to up grade that would improve gaming/audio performance.

That laptop looks decent. I would find some reviews on it first, just to be safe.

From what I've read, they're saying it's a pretty good computer, just that the graphic card doesn't have a good reputation

How old are these reviews?

They could have had the older drivers, which are not as good as current ones. Driver updates have been known to boost performance by 10-15%

That one is $800 more b/c it has

-Intel? Core™ i7-720QM Processor
• 1.60 GHz, 6MB L2 Cache, 1333MHz FSB (QUAD CORE!!!!!!!!)

-6144MB DDR3 System Memory (6GB of RAM!!)

-1920x1080 (HD display)

Yes, on the american one, those upgrades total about $800usd.

You wouldn't happen to have any american friends that could send it to you?

Also, my local Fry's had the Envy 15 there, so it couldn't hurt to check around

I know having everything all in one would be nice. At the price you're suggesting it's almost more efficient to buy a small laptop/netbook for your media/DJ'ing needs, and then buy a 17" or 18.4" gaming laptop. I'm not sure the best choice but the two dbee suggested would work well. Even though the most value I think you can get for your dollar is in the second suggestion from dbee, and even though it's out of your preferred price range...

There's a lot of power for the price in that model, and if you want to go overboard, there's plenty of options to make it a ridiculous 15" laptop. The same model is offered through Cyberpower, I just think Sager has options outlined more clearly so there's several places you can find that model. If you're unsure of how capable laptop video cards are you can take a look at this link to see basic comparisons and get an idea as to where certain cards stack up to others.

that is not very portable, korgot said that it should be portable, because he(or she) is a DJ. Djs move around alot. Also the HP has a better sound system.

The weight difference is minor I think but weight importance isn't up to me. I don't know how much different the sound quality would be but here's the Sager audio system description and below. Dimensions of each are also below. They're about the same size except the Sager is slightly thicker.

Audio System

Built-in High Definition audio
3D Stereo Enhanced Sound System
S/PDIF Digital output 7.1CH
1 Built-in Microphone
2 Built-in Speakers

HP dimensions: 14.96" (W) x 9.60" (D) x 1.04" (H)
Sager dimensions: 14.75" (w) x 10" (d) x 1.65"~2" (h)

From what i have read, the envy has above average sound quality. Not sure about the Sager, but most Sagers use basic realtek cards and stuff like that.
