Hey I got this email a few days ago from A guy on the Insmod website.
This post is not for everyone but I guess for those who have played countless hours of Ins this might interest you some what.

...if you don't want this mod to die but can't see anything else on the horizon while they're at the helm. One post by Jeremy was all it took to get people thinking positively about what could be and that says this game could bounce back. They don't own this mod, they are merely custodians charged by every contributor past and present with acting in its best interests. This should include stepping aside themselves when they no longer have enough to offer, let them know YOU expect this. Sign-up, be counted and spread the word:

i signed up because i agree with the initiative

and i posted this in the grouppage after reading a post jason made:

i agree with jason, the biggest problem were a lot of servers contribute to is that they don't rotate the maps and constantly play sinjar, wich gets the pubs and the new guys (grunts) quiklcy bored, the positive side of this game is the variation in maps/enviorment and that each map requires a different aproach, also this game is based on tactics and nothing else, its not a game were you can win a fight on your own, like you can in a lot of shooters, if you don't defend choke points in this game you lose, and that's the strenght of this game, the current developers (if there active) seem to forget that.

And slowly this great game (one of the best i've ever played, maybe the best) is about to die because the developers seem to slack on inproving the game, and taking it to a new horizon.

Yeah, we were talking about it on vent, hammer had some interesting points, as always.

I dont want INS to die. :( But im rather confused? What exactly is this group for? To try and make the devs work more on INS?

This shows the development team how many INS players actually care about this game and want to see it flourish. Rather then sit and watch the mod they've all come to love die in a stagnate pool unnoticed.

They want the developers to step down and have the mod become open source. Therefore, community members can take over the project and continue development themselves. What scares me about this, is that there is a lot of division amongst the community.

"It wud be soz awsum if they aded a mp5 wit silent n airstriks! Lyke COD4, my favurit game."

"No! EYE want it 2 b realistic! I want to pretendz eye am in teh marines"

that's also true, maybe we need as the biggest ins community take our responsabilities and start a debat on the ins forum, because face it we're the biggest ins community, we need to act like it to on the official forum that's at least my thoughts about it.

ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO KEEP INS ALIVE IS TO BE PART OF THE LEAGUE!

If you see another clan, mention to them that we have a league and we would love to have one of there leaders talk to me and set them up for the ladder matches.

Im always going on USMC, NADES, LIGS, ANZINS, LMC, NOB and keeping them up to date on the league.

eGO member? JOIN A TEAM! GO TO THE TRY OUTS! PLAY INS STAND OUT! BE IN VENT!

IT WILL KEEP INS ALIVE!

Hi Yeti, we aren't asking for it to become open source or for the community to drive the project (as that would be scary and I agree about the community division) but we do want the project to be led by someone else (not known until this morning - UK time - but know we know that leader is Jeremy)

I have made a post on the INS forum, I hope you will back it!

Also please sign Jeremy's petetion

thanks CoG
