My version of bc2 has been extremely laggy. I am fairly certain it is not my computer, as I can run WoW and mw2 in 1440x900 with the highest graphics settings at the same time and they both wont lag, yet I cant even run bc2 with the lowest settings on everything. It starts out okay, but then it lags periodically and terribly, making the game unplayable... is this a wide spread problem? I read on some forums i googled that others have had the same problem but it hasnt been fixed as of yet

I'll put it simple 32-bit vista and 4 GB RAM don't go good together my friend get vista 64 bit or windows 7 and it will improve it i guarantee cause 32-bit limits you to 3 GB ram.

With the 32 bit OS you are robbing your self of Half a gig of ram there.
The CPU is a bit weak but should be fine for this game.
Same with the GPU. I run a 9800gts and can only run the game cleanly at med settings.
But it's not that weak so it should be able to run it at low settings.
Try settings the resolution to as low as it will go along with the lowest graphical settings there is.
Also cheek out Dualitys performance guide to squeeze out some more FPS out of your computer.

Only 2 CPU cores + Low core clock = BC2 lag.

you wont do yourself much of a favor by upgrading to a 64bit OS with this game. Put simply, your processor and video card are too weak for this game to run well.

Try dropping the version of Direct X that bc2 uses to 9.

Yeah, BC2 is a CPU hog and is one of the few games that works on a quad core CPU. Your CPU is the bottleneck in this game.
