My computer crashed or something last night when I was sleeping, but when I went to get on this morning, my desktop was a flat dark gray that I couldn't change, my start bar even didn't have any of the programs I pinned to it, my icons were visible (I have them off), and I can't even use Chrome right now (Yes, that does mean I'm using IE :facewall: ) So I was wondering if there is anyway I could check to see what made it crash? Or something? I'm running a full virus scan of my computer. I'd just like to know what the :cursing: happened.

Safe Mode?

(Yes, that does mean I'm using IE)

Firefox? :P

The reboot after the crash 'should' (read: when Windows feels like it) of shown some sort of error report... other than that AFAIK there isn't any way to get other info about what caused the crash.

Safe Mode?

No, it's not in safe mode. I did manage to change it, but it doesn't register it in the Personalize thing. It still says Harmony

Firefox? :P

There were no error reports, other than my graphics driver failing a lot, which is odd since it was supposed to be snoozing all night.

Bolded parts.

Upon restarting, all of my stuff is back to the way it was, but now it's really slow. Running more scans.

Actually, it's running fine now...
Very peculiar. (Damn, there's no emote for rubbing chin thoughtfully)

Just because it's working all the sudden, doesn't mean there isn't something wrong with it. The suggestion on rolling back your changes to before the issue, would resolve what you may have installed/done before the issue first occurred.

But if it's a trojan/virus, then they inject themselves into the restore sometimes anyway.

This.

But in all seriousness i agree with going back to a system restore point. Defragment your harddrive, and run more virus scans.

Microsoft fails. I got the red screen of death once, yes red screen. That means your computer is REALLY messed up.
