I'm waiting for Data

So I bought BFBC2 recently with the $20 deal and it's going well, Singplayer is fine and no stutters that plague so many people. But I can't get into multiplayer-at all. When I click refresh for the servers, the "Waiting for Data" thing pops up but I never get any servers. The thing stays at "Waiting for Data" for a litteraly hours at a time and I don't get any servers.

I've searched high and low but I can't seem to find anyone else with the same issue/ find a solution any help would be much appreciated!

Is windows firewall blocking it?

Hit cancel, it'll search forever unless you specify in the search bar what you're looking for i.e. typing (eGO)

It normally takes ~5 minutes for it to complete it cycle for me. Though if I hit cancel servers will still show up (probably not the full list but I never check).

Though the players column seems to be bugged. Servers with open slots give me a full message 80% of the time (talking 1-10 open slots).

Like duality said, just hit cancel it will stop the search and give you quite a bit of results, the longer you wait...the more results. Also you can just search for servers, I did this for the eGO servers. Just type =(eGO)= and you will find our servers

I waited 10 minutes, nothing and when I press cancel midway the server list is blank. When I search the Ego servers, all I get is a blank list. I've checked my firewalls but everything I do, my server list is blank.

Have you tried downloading Punkbuster? It's probably out of date the copy of it you have.

I'm also having this problem. When i try connecting thru a friend, it says, cannot connect to ea online.

I've found a help for this online, which saide to reinstall, i did, and still, same results. so i feel your pain singularpoint

Solved, I had to update BF though it's own updater+updating punkbuster separately. Thanks for all the help guys, see you online!
Auto-updater my ass, I had to download a gigabyte worth of stuff which is ridiculous since I downloaded the game from EA a day ago.

Try updating the game.
