Hello eGO tech gurus

I'm having a bit of an issue that only seems to occur when I play DoD. When I attempt to use the @ in chat it actually gives me this ". A number of other shift + <key> gives me a different result than what I actually typed, though some are still the same. Also when hitting the tilde key ~ ` to open the console it inserts a # symbol into the console. This only seems to occur in DoD source and I am at a loss as to what could be causing this issue.

Also, this issue appears to be intermittent, sometimes everything works fine, other times not so much.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

My computer specs, in case it helps

Mobo: ASUS M4A78 Pro
CPU: AMD Phenom II 940 Quad core
RAM: 4 Gb Corsair Dominator DDR2-1066
GPU: XFX 4890XT
HDD: WD Caviar Black 1TB
PSU: Corsair 750w
OS: Win 7 Home Premium 64bit

Please let me know if you need more info

Try resetting all your keys by going in to console and typing "unbind all" the going into options and using set to default.

Or maybe it's the language settings of your computer. Just go to "Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Advanced" and look if there's something wrong.

This happens to me quite often...

It's caused when you press ALT+SHIFT. If you have more than one keyboard layout specified in your 'regional and language settings' ALT+SHIFT toggles between those languages.

Solution: press ALT+SHIFT again to toggle back to your proper layout :)

Thanks for the help folks, I believe i got it fixed now.

It was an issue with Windows 7 defaulting to multilingual settings due to my region(Canada). The hot key to switch from english to french was the same as steams default for the in game overlay. I believe this was causing the issue, I set the language to english only.

Thanks again for the help.
