Game Keeps Freezing

Today I get home and started playing and on MP and SP the game just freeze's and I have to restart my comp, I cant even close the program it just stays frozen... my gfx card is up to date, any suggestions ?

what type of freezing?....my game used to go black screen...then a multicoloured striped screen. happens with a bunch of new games like Mass effect 2, Bad company 2 & modern warfare 2...but it's only been with these new releases every other game is fine.

i play bad company 2 in windowed mode now with directx 9 forced and as little anisotropic filtering as possible...still have everything set to high...

doing that fixed my problem, i did the same sort of thing with other games and that solved the problem for me...at least i hope so (been nearly 2 weeks now & no problems)
 
Join the club, EA's got ~4k+ of these problems right about now, including myself.

What's stupid is we have replicas of my system at work, so i tested it on them as well with new copies of the game and one system works perfect, the other doesn't (used an empty server, same one each time, 5 hours straight on each machine; 1 crashed 3 times, the other crashed 0 times; it IS the game. I crash randomly; 5 minutes or 5+ hours...).

It sucks, and the only recognition of it is a small thread that says "post your system specs" on the DICE(?) forums; it's led to nothing as far as i know; there were no crashes for me until that last tiny update they did, something in there fudged it all up.

constant freezing and forced restarts here on win 7 ultimate 64 bit. BC2 seems to like 32 bit better for me not sure why but it crashes less if at all. i can only run it around 15-20 fps on a crappy fanless 9500gt so there could be plenty of reasons for it crashing on me. i have discovered i had a sever loss in performance and increase in crashes after i started playing around in the system32 file trying to install custom desktop themes but that could just be me.
