Whats the point of an AFK

What propose does a AFK or AFK spec serve? They must be very important to the server if they dont get auto kick.

im sorry i must be missing some information so can anyone fill me up on the importance of a AFK? and why Auto afk kick was removed. Auto kick obviously has no importance what so ever.
im not asking for any changes to the server, im just questioning your logic.

I think the most obvious thing you're missing is the point of the Drop Box and everyone's repeated message to please begin utilizing it properly.

Two reasons to not autokick someone in AFK.

1) They increase the number of players in the server, helping it hit that magical "critical mass" so that it becomes self-sustaining and consistently has a high player population.

2) If the server isn't completely full, then reason #1 is being accomplished, and someone may have gone AFK because they wish to keep playing, but don't wish to lose their current score or whatever.

In summary, unless the server's full, it rarely matters, and usually helps.

Isn't this the second thread you've made about the fact that there may be AFKs in a server?

DTS hit the nail on the head with both arguments. We don't have an auto-AFK kicker, because we have members that also seed the servers at night, as designated with {S} tags, and this would be counterproductive. Similarly, we do NOT autokick for high ping, unless the game is absolutely unplayable for others.

We don't kick players for being AFK unless the server is full, because they help to attract players continuously, and all AFKs on a team should be moved to the spectator team, especially if they are a restricted class.
