This week's eGO: =(eGO)=™ D.T.S.
Aliases: (None?)
Hey D.T.S., ready for your interview? Ready when you are. Ok!
First questions are easy and always the same. What is your favorite map and why? That's easy. Colmar. I find it to be one of the most balanced maps available for DOD:S, and it's a nice change of pace from the standard flag capping. On top of that, I usually root for the underdog, and since the eGO Colmar server is often empty it has earned a place in my heart. Haha. Interesting.
What is your favorite side/class and why? Assault. Reaching out and touching someone to death is just a right click away. If I had to pick a side....I'd say Axis on Kalt, but Allies on Ava {Avalanche}. There are some slight differences between the two sides, but I'm not good enough to notice them. They're pretty much the same. Left click makes bullets, right click makes knuckle sandwiches. Interesting analysis. lol
What is your favorite thing about eGO? The server environments that eGO creates, hands down. When other people talk about the crappy time they had on some CSS server getting raged at by a homophobic, racist 12-year-old who curses with the affinity of someone who just looked the word up in a dictionary, I just smile. Well, smile, and tell them that's what they get for playing CSS. We don't run into that too often on eGO servers. Which is good, because I'm slowlly getting too old to think that type of stuff is cool anymore. lol yeah I see that a lot too.
Ok. We all have stories of times playing. What is your favorite story? Something amazing, cool, ridiculous, dumb, or just plain funny? Mine comes from eGO but it wasn't in game. You gonna allow that? I know you're a stickler for the rules
Oh sure, why not? Maybe try to think of an in-game one to go alone with it?
Hmmm, ok. But go ahead and share that one. My out-of-game one is from when I got my G. I was minding my own business, as a naive little e, in a Left 4 Dead 2 lobby. Next thing I know, I've been pulled into a different vent room, I'm surrounded by Advisors, DLs, and some Council. Fluffy {=(eGO)=™ FluffyTheDestroyer} starts to inform me that they're aware of my recent activity, all these things I've said in server that are inappropriate, on and on and on. She tells me they have chat logs, that they're pretty upset that I misrepresented eGO, and to go look at my forum profile to see what they'd decided to do to me. hahaha So, I went, assuming that my profile would list some permanent ban. And I didn't see it, so I rather sheepishly admitted that I wasn't sure what they had done. That's when someone, I think it was Debo {=(eGO)=™ KILLERxDEBO Ξ?Ξ}, pointed out my new rank to me. So far, that's my favorite story, except for the part where I had to change my underwear. lol In game, it was probably when I got to 4,800 points. It was a personal goal I set to myself, and when I hit it I could only think "Thank god I can stop caring about those now." I then proceeded to drop down around 3,900 for awhile, not sure where I'm at now. Probably some new number mathematicians have never heard of. Heh, it'll assuredly involve the square root of one when it's discovered. I was more thinking the square root of i. Or, I guess we could call that the cubic root of a negative number? Sure, we could call that whatever we want. I'm a philosophy major, so I'll say it's fine. What's in a name anyway? Letters? Anyways, moving on...
If you had to name your DoD arch-nemesis, who is it and why? Man, that's a tough one. I guess London {=(eGO)=™ISURVIVED LONDONBLITZ], just because I run into him the most in the sewers. But it's much more of a camaraderie thing I think, rather then arch-nemesis. Haha. Ok. Although he does tend to get in the way of capping the one... True...
What is your screen name from and why did you choose it? D.T.S. is short for Dance The Spears. It's a phrase from a series of novels by Robert Jordan. It's a fantasy setting, in which there's a large group of people that abhor fighting with swords, and use spears instead in what I suppose would be a style similar to some sort of eastern martial arts. The phrase "dance the spears" means to fight. I kinda liked the phrase, but I didn't want people thinking I was a big Britney Spears fan (which they did at first) so I changed my steam name to D.T.S. ... Hold on a minute, you might have actually made me speechless. I will recover...gimme a minute. Sure, just as long as you know the meter's running...
Ok, I'm back. You mentioned all of the kids in CSS. It seems that the CSS crowd in general is younger than the rest. How would you explain this? Any ideas? Hmmm, I've never given it any serious thought. Let's see.... I'd have to start out with the fact that CSS is a game in which your personal skill is much more explicitly on display then in DOD:S, and that carries over into the fact that CSS is just much more of an individualistic game then DOD:S all the way around. Much more team work, communication, and at times self-sacrifice is required of DOD:S players. You also have to be patient, as rounds typically aren't over in less then seven minutes. Coupling that with the strange fascination with jail, in which you get to boss people around and you get to pwn them if they don't do what you say...Yeah, it's perfect for teenagers. Not downing it, or teenagers in general. I was a brat teenager for sure, and would have annoyed my present day self to no end. Haha at least you admit it. Alright, just a few more questions. Bring em on.
You run into London a lot in the sewers...have you ever participated in, or interrupted, his morning tea? The old kook (who--little known fact--is older than half of the CSS Division combined) actually has morning tea in the Kalt sewers. I may have, but I'm not sure. If his response to people interrupting his tea is to fill them full of bullets, then yes I have interrupted him countless times. You could have tried claiming that you were bringing some knuckle sandwiches to eat with the tea? Sadly, he only accepts crumpets.
What is your favorite knuckle sandwich ingredient? Or ingredients. Like any good dish, they needs to be surprised by the experience when the knuckle sandwich hits them in the mouth. I really like it when they just don't expect the top level of service I bring to the table when preparing knuckle sandwiches. Are you stuck on the top of a church tower? No worries, I will bring the sandwich to you. That moment of dawning realization is priceless, especially if it causes them to become so alive with surprised glee that they wildly fire a shot into the air, just before I serve them seconds. So, I guess in a word, the most important ingredient is surprise. Surprise, and right clicks. What does surprise taste like? Like heaven, over a bed of fluffed leet greens, and an awesome roll.
FINAL QUESTION! Sad. Ok, go for it. Your display pic...is that a smiley face...or a surprised man with a unibrow? It's a colon and a parentheses. Unless you find meaning in it, in which case it's art. Oh, just a colon and parentheses? Wow...that one Vegas had as 10-1.
Oh, and you owe me five bucs per view. We can negotiate that later. I also accept some of Blindy's casino cash. Oh, you can have some of that. Sure. Thank you. You're quite cultured for supporting the arts. No thank YOU...for participating, Dancing the not-Britney Spears! Ha, any time YoSpankDawg, was fun.

{Look, it's D.T.S.!}
{Please make sure to vote for the eGO--specifically eGO--you would like to be interviewed! I do not pick them, I go off of popular vote, so please nominate! Do not vote for yourself or anybody who has already been done}
