Nether snipers are the worst class in the game... they bring nothing to the fight and all they do is camp... now you might think "oh well noxx just gets sniped all day and hes raging" but this is not true its more i'm just sick of seeing teams lose cause like 80% of their team is sniping 2 miles away from the REAL men that rush in.

noxx maybe there are some snipers that actually do contribute to the team.... gotta pay attention to some recons out there they do serious damage up close.

but back on topic if i'm gonna rush into battle i need a gun that's light, and reliable so hey ima go for the m24

Come on Noxx, you play this game so much but you have so little idea what you're talking about :D You guys need to stop hating on snipers and start hating on bad snipers.

Bad snipers: don't kill much, don't spot, get sniped themselves.

Good snipers: Killing 2-3 enemy per death, spot everything, Mortar objectives, stationary emplacements, or vehicles, bail out your squad-mates when they're in a disadvantaged position by firing on enemies in an advantaged position, kill chopper pilots or gunners, 1-shot UAVs at range, and keep enemy sniper's in check by keeping their heads down. Defensive snipers can throw motion mines and a block of C4 directly on top, hit it when the red triangle is dead center and they've become master ambushers. Offensive snipers can walk you up the road by killing the ranged targets in your way or spotting ambushes.

They serve an effective role, it's just not played very well, but good snipers, well, they're (dare I say, we?) are out there

M24 I gotta say. Faster reload and it truly doesn't give away your position from your sniping spot. M24 also owns on hardcore mode:P M95 is better for Regular esp with magnum ammo.

Oh ppl don't forget about the Gol:)

I don't understand the recon-bashing. I tend to get left out to dry by all the "assault" classes just as much as the camping snipers. My preferred tactic is to get just behind the enemy's main battle line and light them up w/ the SVU from mid/close range. That really clears the way for the assault guys to rush. Except they don't.

M95 is soooo awesome
Got my Bronze and Silver star with that thing the first round i used it
M95 + Magnum Ammo = One Hit Wonder in close range :D

24, I hate the 95 since it makes anyone camp. I like to get in close to enemy with my sniper so I can call in a Mortar Strike on their positions. Especially on Rush with Defense, nobody expects a Recon guy hiding right next to their spawn.

GOL anyone?
Best one in the sniper category.

But really, noxx is somewhat right. If you are gonna snipe, at least do it near the action.

@noxx, i'm not quite sure you understand the purpose of the recon class. As a sniper on defense playing Rush, I find strategic places to sit and pick off the attackers as they rush in on foot, in APC/ATV's and in helicopters. When on offense, I go way up high near each target and protect the assault/engineer guys as they plant at each m-com station and then pick off the defense as they go in to defuse. Then I call in the mortar strike and move on to the next set of m-com targets.

A good recon player will have a pretty good kill/death ratio (3:1 or 4:1) and so will his teammates/squadmates.

as for the poll, I'm gonna have to go with the m24, simply because I'm rank 4 and just got the game so I haven't unlocked the m95 yet

...from the REAL men that rush in.

With gustavs? :P

The type of recon that moves up with out a scoped rifle gets a +1 in my book its an awesome class to move in and give a good spawn point for his other squad mates and they are great at setting traps like C4 on a helo or tank or w/e is clever

The last time I did this with the M95, and you guys gave me crap for doing it. I chose the M95 because I could actually defend myself, because if you're using a bolt action sniper (which I prefer) and you get a hitmarker, that rocket or M60 is already mowing your face down. Since I was spawning teammates behind, the two engineers on my squad were able to clean up and ambush.

Can't we just let people play what class they enjoy playing, and not give them crap if they don't go positive? Everyone starts a game at a low skill level (or at least SOMEONE does), and complaining that they aren't helping, or they're guarding a tree instead of B and you tell them to stop pulling a Whisker doesn't help them get better. Saying you can't stand snipers doesn't help your team, but causes tension instead.

would just like to add recon class could be much more useful is spotting scope would work properly.

Just a thought

You really can't compare the two, I play recon all the time and I only use M95 if I wanna take out a chopper or kill guys a close range in 1 shot. So I'm going with M24.

Ok been cheeking out the m95 with the 4xscope and c4... OMG LOVE its like playing my beloved riflemen class of the old DoD... One shot boom... I can still pick people off from distance with the gun :D

sorry, only one match that I've played is like that, and after we took all the points we then started the baserage, and we won. After this they did a lot better, they lost, but they did better. My guess is that you're hella unlucky if you KEEP getting sinper-spam games.

M24 all the way; M95 is too slow for my liking and the M24 just feels right.
