Steam commmunity in DOD....

Every time i press my button to open steam community in a game the screen goes into like a tv would, like the screen goes all ahauidbidh lol for real but like i my game freezes up and i half to restart my whole pc. I will post a picture when i get one but also any suggestions?

what i mean by like a tv like the screen will have like lines between it also like it will be staticey (however u spell it) and only the bottem part of the time community loads up.
Nothing else and when that does it freezes.

it is hard to explain

dude like picture a tv.. u lose ur cable... that is wat happens to my screen it has all these lines that go thru it.

And it happens when i am playing dod.

Well, When I am watching TV and i unplug the cable, i get the traditional white and black static also known as snowstorm and hear kushhhhhhhhhhh...

I'm not sure what you mean by lines going through it. I guess I will have to wait for the picture.

lol well there is no kushhhhhhhhh crap but the lines and stuff....
It just goes up and down....
I am going to try uninstalling steam and reinstalling it
see if it works....

I will tell you if it does or not.

If you are going to do that then you might as well update your video drivers at the same time. right click your desktop and goto proporties > settings - as if to change the resolution it should tell you what video card you have. Then get the newest drivers from nvidia.com or ati.com for that card and for your version of windows. That might solve lots of problems.

Just go to www.nvidia.com and on the top white bar goto download drivers - or drivers download
Then select videocard geforce 4 serries for Windows(version) guessing you are using XP? Then download them and install them.

I recieved your PM 50cent but have not responded due to ilness. I looked at the screen shot and it looks like you just need to reinstall steam. I see how this was hard to explain but it doesnt look like any specific modle or sprite problem I think a clear reinstall will solve this nicely, let us know how it works out.

lol worked on the problem for a week till like saturday night i went to steams forum and i posted about it. At first they was confused then i explained i was having trouble updating my NVIDIA so i told them wat i was trying to download and they said i was downloading the wrong thing. I download the right one and when i run dod,..... my problem was fixed. It was nvidia the whole time....
