I use 4000 to 5000 for my crosshair scale and i choose the color depending on wich map i play.

Office = red

Dust = green

Italy = blue

etc...

4500 i think is way to small..

Also I use an LCD res, believe it or not the res can effect the looks/feels of crosshairs.
