SO I finally got a collection of mp3s of a bunch of cd's I can't get in America, without paying insane import fees.

Problem: They are techno mixes, and whoever ripped them used the mp3 format, which has milliseconds of silence at the start of each track.

This is annoying because it's meant to be a constant mixed stream of sound.

Is there any free programs designed to fix this sort of problem?

Only problem is I'm a perfectionist, and I want to keep it the way it's meant to be, plus I'm looking to use them on my mp3 player.

I believe the plugin I linked you to has a function specifically for taking out gaps in between songs, so its not simply a crossfade. So in theory you should be able to edit the songs in winamp then transfer them to your mp3 device.

Try it out and see if it works.

Depending on the amount of files or if you want, you can RAR the mp3's and upload them to Rapidshare.com

I'll take them and edit the files (I have Sony SoundForge 10 - a fantastic but bloody expensive piece of editing software) and upload them to my FTP for you to REdownload.

Let me know!

It'll take a bit. 1.28 GB...
