Rocketjump?

Since the last Rocketjumping event went so well, I guess i'd just have to give you some heads up.
This friday we're going to have a new one, and until then, please read up on THIS

If anyone have a suggestion on what beginner map we're going to play, please reply to this thread.

Egypt actually has some really nice rocket-jumping areas. The first cp has that nice ledge you can get to by a bad rocket jump, while the higher one requires a much better one. The second cp you can practice jumping from the red spawn to the area after tunnel to work on forward (not just upward) movement. The second round has an epic rocket jump right off the bat that has slopes on the side you can use to make it easier. Then third round has some more really awesome jumps for the first cp but nothing for the second.

If you're talking about jump_ maps then let me know, I'm still looking for a good one. On almost all of them the first jump is simple and the second is basically impossible for a beginner.

Jump_rush is a pretty good beginner jump map. But it gets really boring for advanced jumpers because there isn't really much of a challenge.

That map would be too hard for beginners. Try 2fort, or payload maps ie Bad water basin at the start,

Agreed. Any jump map, regardless of if it says beginner on it, will be way too hard for somebody learning. If you can't consistently get a good basic rocket jump, then you will never be able to get past the first or second jump.

jump_adventure is actually MUCH closer to teaching someone how to rocket jump, rather than rocket jump in ridiculous ways, because the first course is all pretty simple. I think it starts with a basic jump, crouch jump, then a wall climb. But after that it starts to ramp up again.

Since the event isn't really "learn to rocketjump", I meant beginner rocketjumping maps.

or jump_

The only requirement is a flow so you cant skip a step.
We did rj_rocketeer last week, so something similar to that

Then I suggest jump_adventure. It goes from very simple to very complex in a single map.

How do you rocket jump? I haven't been able to do it yet.

I really like the dustbowl map or the one where you seem to be tiny in a huge room.
