Just Cause 2 not keeping proper track of my saves?

This is annoying. So I has Just Cause 2, and I beat a few missions, went to another Island and captured another stronghold, saved my game (As well as saw the Autosave icon) then booted it back up and when I load the save I made or the autosave, it ignores all the progress I made after a certain point and plops me back at 4% in Panau City even though I progressed to 8% in... wherever the heck the Reapers operate. I've redone these and different missions, made sure to save several times on 3 different files, and they all plonk me back to 4% and erase my progress. It's getting really annoying. Is there a problem here?

This sounds like either your computer is denying write access to wherever the save folder is or when you installed the game, something critical to memory saving got altered or has gone missing.

If you are using Windows 7/vista, have you tried running the game in Admin mode?

STEAM: Just close out STEAM completely, run STEAM as an admin.
EA DM: Ditto, just replace STEAM with EA DM.
Stand-alone: Just run the game/launcher as admin.

If not, I'll research a little.
