Lets not argue with each other in the game chat anymore in the future please. This also goes for calling each other out for what some may consider menial or beneath good game play etiquette. I am referring to the other night when some e's eG's and eGO's were yelling and complaining in the game because the other eGO's and players were shooting into their spawn from the island on isla innocentes. If you have a problem bring it up in private on the forums in the private discussion or in vent not in the public setting like that.

Also Base camping is completely legal in rush maps and has been legalized by Duality. So you can complain all you want about it but it wont change the fact that in Battlefield games this is a completely legal strategy to win the map. If you don't like it that's fine but you don't need to be shouting at your fellow eGO members in the in game chat telling them how cheap they are and how they all need to play fair. Battlefield tactics have always had spawn camping in them and that's how the game is played. If you want to outlaw spawn camping then technically Rush shouldn't be played at all because aren't the mcom stations right on top of the defenders spawn base and you really should not be spawn camping them either now should you?

So all in all lets not argue in the game chat about whats fair and not fair and play the game. This is how the game is played. Our DL Duality has already made his ruling on it and that's how the game is played.

Agreed 100%.

As for maps that are campable in the 1st objective (usually when people hate being basecamped).

Panama Canal, Laguna Presa, Isla Innocentes, Port Valdez, etc... all have perfectly position places where defenders can "basecamp" the attacking team on purpose. This was noted by one of DICE's own people as being a intentional thing as basecamping is a 100% viable tactic in this sort of game. Typically this falls under the impression that "if you can't get out of the situation, then you should be in that situation."

I personally don't agree with it, and don't typically partake in spawn camping unless i just happen to be there and they spawn right in front of me (bad luck on their part imo) but it is not against the rules and shouldn't be argued in-game as Boo stated, that isn't the sort of thing eGO people do and they (As far as i know) don't do it anywhere else i've played before in regards to the servers eGO runs.

So to tag onto Boo's post, please don't argue in games, it just makes our community look bad and this is by far one of the best communities for gaming i've ever been in.

thanks.

I agree but then again spawn camping is always a problem but if "they" don't like it they shouldn't play it then i hate people who complain. But people who do "complain" too much change things i don't think that's the case here it's just pitfull.

I have to agree with Boo-Yeah!, I had raised similar concerns shortly after the release of the game and a community decision was made at the time that this was acceptable.

I didn't agree with it initially, but after putting in over 120 hours of play, i can say that this is almost always a result of the attacking team.

If your team is sitting back and sniping, or there are 6 people waiting for the chopper, etc., etc., the defenders almost have to pull right up to the base to prevent themselves from falling asleep.

If you push you win, if you don't you get camped, its just that simple.

I have heard similar complaints when attackers take a point and don't look for the few odd enemy players that are still hiding around.

A single sniper behind enemy lines that is actively spotting enemies and using mortar strikes can cause the attackers to lose a map.

Now there are other situations, where team composition can make a difference.

When the game first came out, our players didn't always do a good job of swapping teams and keeping things fun. And many of us had words over that, but it has improved.

I was on a multi-round losing team the other day, and I finally said on vent that I'd had enough. So Ravage swapped to my team and we squaded up and we still lost, but it was a lot more fun playing with someone on my team who was on vent.

The game balance is a juggling act in BC2, player count and experience level can be difficult to judge, and sometimes a good team gets rolled.

Even when your being camped there are opportunities to have fun and screw around.

If people are frustrated with their team, they need to vocalize it in vent, them speaking out is much better than letting them rage quit, we just have to learn how to shape that frustration into something useful.

I have had some great experiences recently where I swapped teams/servers to help someone on BC2 or another member did the same for me.

I have seen many eGO members in the in-game chat complaining about game issues, and it is really a shame that more members don't join us in ventrillo when they are on the servers.

This is a team game, and from what I have seen, our best, most active players are the ones who play BC2 while on vent. It makes balancing the teams so much easier, and it makes keeping players happy so much easier, and generally makes the game much more fun.

We have many options, we just have to choose wisely

I also agree that its perfectly fine to spawn camp if the attackers are doing nothing or other things as other people have said, but I don't think its fair when there is quite a noticeable gap between teams, like when theres 5 people attacking and 9 people defending who are spawn camping. But that is easily fixable, so theres no real reason to grief.

Has nothing to do with the post, but I love your sig so much<3

And sure, I agree also :P

I think it's laughable to complain about base camping in a game where the spawn camping is 99% fixed. Spawn on a squadmate away from the base. Switch to assualt and rush (hint: on rush maps, you should RUSH). Change squads and spawn on another squadmate if everyone in your squad is sitting back.

BC2 gives you so many options to dodge the spawn campers...

you don't have the killer instinct is why, bloodlust, the uncontrollable urge to kill your enemies and achieve victory at all costs. All may play, all must perish. Carnage in place of compromise, death in place of deals. Break their will, break their spirits, break their necks! CHARRGGGEEEEE

agreed with all points

KILL!!!

haha the edit just so the post isn't 100% off topic. Might as well be locked anyway, unless we're going to have more debate and another 10 people tell us why spawn camping should be legal even though it already is.

Just treat them like any other pubber, if they're yelling about a rule, educate them, and if they keep yelling, kick them. No need for all this, every admin knows the process and if you started kicking a few I guarantee the rest would fall into line. Hold them to a higher standard and enforce our rules, especially with our own!

No, it doesn't look bad if we start kicking our own members, it means we keep our members accountable for their actions.

Usually a argument involves two people...so when someone says "Spawn camping is gay"...and you go "Its part of the rules" that makes them want to argue and continue the convo...but if you leave it alone the QQ'ers will slowly stop talking.

Can I kick you ronpaul ? Whoops nope I can't you're never in eGO servers >.>

:P

Just take a look at my signature......
Though it might take a minute just think about it:closedeyes:

Spawn killing is server killer in my opinion, if ppl spawn camp and make the killed ones frustrated/annoyed it usually makes them leave the server with bad taste in their mouth..

But I have been guilty to spawn killing in BC2, but I don't do it with pleasure if we want to keep our servers active and some ppl playing there..

Coming from the guy who raged and raged at someone who kept killing him when he was trying to pin farm <3

I agree no more arguing, and I agree that in most cases spawn camping is perfectly legal, but I must say on Isla Innocentes I've seen many an attacking team almost completely leave because they would literally spawn, and get instant killed by some sniper sitting a mile away with the M95, cannot take off on heli, you get sniped, cannot move out of base, you get sniped, cannot countersnipe, you either get sniped or are near unable to hit them because they have extremely good cover and your cover is crap. Point is it sometimes gets so bad that there are 5-6 players attacking, and 15 defending, all sniping in, meaning pretty much all the remaining attackers just leave. That map has probably the fastest way to kill a server ever.

If your team doesn't sit in there base the whole game then they wont get spawn camped. So try actually going for the objective instead of sitting in your base as recon.
