ArmA II: Is there a way to force a certain refresh rate?

This is annoying, I got ArmA II but I'm having EXTREME flickering due to refresh rates in 1920x1080 and that's the only resolution I can actually see distance in, but the flickering keeps blinding me. I think the game is running at 59 hz, my monitor and graphics card are 60 hz. Is there a way to edit an ini or something to force a 60hz refresh rate in the game? Or will lowering my refresh rate synch it up, I don't really know that much about the things.

You can force VSYNC through video card drivers. Are you using Nvidia or ATI?

ATI. I have the latest Catalyst drivers and whatnot. I'm an ATI loyalist, same with AMD.

I didn't know VSYNC had anything to do with Refresh rate, but as I said I don't know much about this stuff.

There should be an option for VSYNC in the Catalyst Control Center under "All 3D Settings." If that doesn't work, you can try D3DOverrider, an application that comes with RivaTuner(freeware). I'm more familiar with Nvidia cards.

The tearing is happening because your monitor can't keep up with the framerate your video card is producing. VSYNC synchronizes the framerate with monitor refresh rate.

I know what the refreshrate does, as I said I could tell from the tearing that it was the refresh rate problem. Most games I have have an option to set 1920x1080 into 60hz or do it automatically, but others don't, ArmA II doesn't appear to. I just didn't think VSYNC had anything to do with it, I thought it was unrelated, but I suppose its interesting to know. I'll try that, if it doesn't work I'll try and find a guide on how to change my monitors refresh rate manually.
