Have you ever?

Have you ever sat down and spent an hour or more responding to or starting a new thread? I'm not sure why I do it, i dont think anyone actually reads them. Not to sound depressed im just disapointed. Maybe I should learn to just stop comming to the forums. Input?

I know what you mean, but I think the majority of posts on this forum are legitimate and related to the thread title. One thing that I don't think is right would be the replying to the threads in 'JohnT's Recruiting Office' by copying and pasting a welcome note of about 5 words, and then putting it on 10 threads. Don't get me wrong - I like the fact that new members are being welcomed warmly, but it seems that people just use it to get a higher post count.

You have ranted about this topic numerous times, and I assumed you implied that nobody responds in an applicable way to threads. If you think nobody reads your posts, then don't write them. All though I think many people do, due to the fact that there are thousands of members in eGO that value input from the forum. I don't think you should 'stop coming to the forum' because you are often one of the only people in the tech help forum who can help. I think this is a valuable addition to any gaming/tech forum.

Second. I can usually answer some questions but not in that much detail. You on the other hand can get in depth and really answer their question fully. Don't stop doing what you are good at man! You have helped numerous people, although others dont always agree but that happens in life.

Actually yes, a couple of times I caught myself spending way to much time responding (to get my wording right) or taking FOREVER to get a post right, not sure why. You dont have to stop going to the fourms green monkey, I read your posts, some are pretty useful

Way to make me sound like a whiner - but this si the first time i have ever complained that i spend more time writing posts than people do reading them so i dont see where you say that i bring tis up alot. Unless you are reffering tot he thread i made once asking if i wrote too much or just right - which is a different topic.

I was just upset that I spent so long writing down a crapton about powersupplies in the tech talk forum and only like 13 people had read it after a few days. I dont mind - and encourage - people onyl to respond when applicable so there is no need ot explain why you havnt posted.

It just gets to me when i put effort into a thread and it gets 12 people to view it (probably 8 of which were me) but then 178463 people view topics like "i'm leaving for 3 weeks wish me luck" everytime somebody leaves their computer for anything longer than a short dump.

But thats fine, i'll stop whining aboutthis topic repetatively. Clearly i've done this before - i guess.

green monkey your tech posts rule dude when i have time to be in the forums aside from play kid work etc...i try to make it in here and check out what you have to say in the tech forum your posts are usually the most intuitive of course im a tech geek so...actually ive learned quite a bit already from you your reply in one thread concerning routers switches and the differences gave me quite a bit of insight and you managed to out it all in a speech i could understand which was pretty cool id miss your posts in tech for one my 2 cents as it were

But, blazing - I'm not talking about a two sentance responce to a thread I am talking about a longer, possibly drawn out explination to clear up a misunderstanding or argument. Forexample, the post that i've been talking about was about power supplies to try to end the "omg you need 5000watts psu in your $300 dell or its crap" posting that was continuously going on.

I spent a while explaining everything from electrons, to power, and applied it to power supplies for computers. As it is right now, only 26 people have read it (most likely not even those who go arround making such suggestions falsely) and so I was just expressing my disapointment in myself for bothering to write (on several occasions) long explanation to help the general populous understand something when it gets ignored in favor of not knwoing, pretednign that you do, and making bad reccomendations.

Unfortunately the masses do not appreciate an educated explanation of a said item. I have found your posts to be informational and very interesting. Too many people don't have the discipline or the attention span to sit down, read, and understand. I had been wondering about the power supply issue. I had seen a lot of posts like you mentioned about(needing 3000 watts to run a pc). I did not decide to buy a new power supply because it turns out I don't need it!!

So once again, DON"T stop posting information in the forums!! The few of us who have the brain power to UNDERSTAND a post more than two phrases long, appreciate what you are providing for the community!

If anyone is worried about long posts, it should be Evil Jester and his daily joke thread. I printed off one post in the thread and it took SEVEN pages of paper. Not saying its a bad thing, just comparing.

i always read youre posts green monkey when i have a question about computers i always hope that you will answer them. Because you seem 2 be the 1 that knows the most about comps. The only thing i hate is when u ask me questions about my comp i cant answer LOL :-D. Sometimes its really frustrating when i cant answer u. Eventhough i know youre only asking the questions because u want 2 give me a prober answer. :-(
