Is the shotgun (870 Combat in my case) and knife now considered on the same level as the 40mm GL, M60, and Gustav? If so I missed the memo.

Been trying to fill HC Rush 1 for like 1.5 hours and eGO's keep rage-quitting because I'm using the shotgun and knife. (Whereas they are using tanks and whatever)

the 870 Combat isn't in the same league as the others you named. The gun requires a lot more practice to get good with it. Whereas anyone can pickup the m60 and own with it. The Combat is extremely inaccurate, and when you do hit, it usually kills someone in one hit hardcore or not. I have 3 gold stars in it, and I usually don't get great kills streaks with it. I might get like 6 or 7 kills with it in one life but no more since it's so unpredictable. I do enjoy when I do kill a whole squad with it though.

That's kind of what I figured. But I was told that using the Shotgun and Knife would not help fill servers.

Tried almost all day to get HC #1 filled, think we got up to 11 players one time.

Yeah my tip for filling a hardcore server is maybe just go m9 pistol only. Using the shotgun when there's only 4 or 5 other people on the other team is really easy to use since you know you won't get randomly killed like you do in a full server and you are so mobile too at the same time. So maybe just go something you normally won't do, like using a SMG with the engi, or like i said just use your default pistol.

I think this excuse of "using that gun is not going to help fill servers" is getting pretty lame...the rage quitting afterword is even lamer.

I mean, the 870 is pretty crazy with how you can nail someone across the map with it on HC, but is quitting after being killed by one is really helping? In reality players in servers is whats going to fill servers.

I personally don't care at all if someones wants to use a 40mm, Gustav, or m60 even if its just me and one other player in server...but to make an excuse about the gun your opponent is using, as if the gun itself is preventing people from entering our servers, is pretty lame. Rage quitting after that is just plain hypocritical.

Battlefield games have always been pretty well balanced with how the weapons and classes work - if a guy keeps nailing you with an 870, then you should probably pull out a faster shooting and more accurate weapon than his shotgun.

I rage quit after I get killed over and over and over and over (no exaggeration at all... look at my kdr if you don't believe me) from across the map with the m60.

Although this is sorta off-topic what annoys me the most is when I get the jump on someone and start shooting at them they just turn around and one-shot me after surviving a half-clip of my shots.

I'd use the shotgun but I can never get close enough to people before they see me and decide that I need a few more holes in my head.

If I got nailed with an 870 across the map I would quit on the spot.
