I believe that smoke isn't used enough in this game, and I'm not just talking about the 40mm. Smoke can be used for so many things. It can cover advances, annoy snipers, cover mcom planting and defusing, 40mm smoke shot into an enemy kills him instantly, UAV smoke shot into an enemy can kill as well, and maybe least known is that smoke neutralizes tracers. So if you're constantly being tracered in your tank, might want to think about the smoke perk, or if you're an assault and see a friendly vehicle tracered, lob a smoke grenade over there. Not sure if you can hit your own chopper with a smoke grenade as a passenger or if chopers can use the smoke perk. Anyway, anyone have any other uses for smoke?

I almost exclusively use smoke as assault if i'm running with the AN instead of my typical 870/C4 setup (doesn't use magnum ammo, it's for dropping buildings/mcomm's)

I wasn't thinking about getting on BC2 after I was on the forums, but that comment made me want to. o.o AWAY I GO!!

smoke isnt used enough in this game simply because the ungodly amount of dust kicked up when anything happens is sufficient to affectively blind all players near the cloud.

Theres no reason to carry smoke grenades when you can achieve a greater "screen" effect by blowing anything up.

smoke can clear swimming snipers on the way to places in the water.
smoke can provide cover where there is no cover without expending explosive rounds/ammo.
smoke can confuse and disorient players in HC due to no map in certain situations (especially close quarters).
smoke can be used as a distraction for flanking; IE, i shoot smoke and the enemy assumes i'm going that way; however, my team and myself are going the other way.

There are plenty of uses... all of which merit a direct reward in terms of battlefield manipulation.

Also, before the whole "you can see shadows in smoke" thing comes into play... you can't see through it so they can run behind the smoke and bypass that logic...

smoke has it's place in the game, and when utilized correctly can be devastating to the other team.

They are useful for smoking your teams 10 snipers who can't seem to kill anyone without the smoke :P.

For any as far as I know; works on tanks why not on choppers?

The smoke perk acts as a flare (disregarding technicalities it lets you evade one locked on missile). However it currently only works on consoles and not PC
