Because when I hit my teenage years my parents rung it in with the Ferris Bueller's Day Off and not the John Hughes movie about accepting yourself...if that means anything.
Title: The Breakfast Club
Year: 1985
Country of Origin: US
Director: John Hughes
Story: A group of high school kids from divergent social cliques are stuck in Saturday detention together. Soon they realized that they are deeper than they first appear.
Review: In my high school we didn't have any cliques. Seriously, absolutely zero cliques in my high school. I'm not entirely sure if social cliques actually exist. If they do...please tell me, because I've never seen it and I want to know if it's at all true.
So taking the above into account, I saw the Breakfast Club in my sophomore year of high school. Which means that the film had next to zero impact on my life. Sure it's still an entertaining coming of age film that is well written and well acted by the brat pack. It's just that the film is apparently more important to other people than it is to me. Though because of that, I'm going to recommend this one.
