Have you seen the articles documenting how they totally recycled scenes from older movies for Transformers? I know saving money is a good thing, but WOW until I saw that I didn't realize how bad it really was o.0


Watched Lost Highway again recently - have you seen that one? Worth it for the soundtrack if nothing else. And have you seen any Wallace and Gromitt films? Curse of the Were Rabbit is my favorite ^_^

I don't know how I feel about that. I don't know Lee's work outside of "Do the Right Thing," which isn't anything like the Korean Masterpiece. I am just hoping Spielberg's hands are out of that remake, because Oldboy is about as anti-Spielberg as movies come these days.

I remember I watched Thirst once, and I said to myself "That was interesting." And then I woke up the next morning and had nothing to think about it. From my recolection, the movie seemed a bit of a mess, but in the same way Splice is a mess in that the messages the director was seeding in the film distort by the end of it.

Now I kind of want to re watch that movie.

I am imagining the Clockwork Orange screening scene where they replace the Ludwig Van with the LOTR soundtrack. Sounds epic.

I remember watching lost Highway and it's soundtrack randomly breaks into Rammstein near the end...it's easily one of the strangest films that Lynch has made. I hate to admit it, but I haven't seen any Wallace and Gromitt...I know I'm missing out.

It sounds like Spielberg is still producing it, but then again this is all rumor. I don't know if Oldboy is anti-Spielberg, I mean Munich was a really dark and violent film, but still I know what you mean.

I don't know if Lee could pull it off, he's a decent enough director...but it's a tricky project.

I've liked Park Chan-wook's films so far, with the exception of Joint Security Area. So I'm kind of looking forward to watching Thrist.

Story: One Ring to Rule Them All!

Review: There is a certain reverence that this series has achieved, except for fans of the novel whose reaction is varied. It has almost become my generations Star Wars, especially since the new Star Wars trilogy sucked. Because of this, it's hard for me to give critical opinion of this trilogy. So to combat this, I sat down with a group of friends and watch all the, extended edition, chapters of this epic trilogy. Though this act was futile since all three are great films...even ten years on...after all the hype is dead and gone.

Now you might be asking ?Why are you reviewing the trilogy instead of the films individually? Are you really that lazy??

Well, yes I am that lazy. But it goes further than that. The whole trilogy was shot back-to-back and the quality of the production never waivers. All three are excellent...for almost the exact same reasons. Sure The Two Towers and The Return of the King has massive battles, but the tone and quality of the story telling remains the same. With a little editing, all three of them could easily become one giant film. Frankly you'd be hard pressed to find a more entertaining twelve hours of film. If you haven't seen them, then you should probably get on that. If you have then you should probably re-watch them again, because they are that good.

Story: Who remembers the McDonald's coffee lawsuit?

Review: Guess what time it is! That's right it's HBO documentary season! Everyone one has heard about the lawsuit where the woman spilled coffee on herself and sued McDonald's. This documentary explores what actually happened and how the whole event was manipulated by corporate America to force Tort reform on the American public. There is an obvious bias to the documentary, but it still does a decent enough job as an eye opener. It's well edited, pretty well put together, and more importantly it does a good job at proving its thesis. Your political disposition will probably dictate how much you'll agree with the film, which is all fine and good. This documentary does a good enough to job to give the audience something to chew on.

Story: Just who is this Bobby Fischer guy?

Review: This was the film that kicked off the HBO 2011 documentary season. Its intent is to explore the strange and complex life of Bobby Fischer from chess genius to anti-Semitic crazy man. For the most part the documentary does a great job chronicling Fischer's rise in the world of chess and his impact on the world of chess on a whole. It's when they get to his post chess career and his decent into delusions and insanity is where the film trips up...actually that isn't right. It's actually pretty good throughout, it's just that I wish that they went more into his post-chess crazyness. The documentary leaves out ?Fischer Random Chess? and some other interesting parts of his post-cess life. Still, it's a pretty good documentary of his childhood and chess days.

I remember seeing that one a couple times when it first came out, and I enjoyed it.
I'd like to see a review on that if you've seen it.

Also, sorry for the second post. I just thought I'd mention a second a movie I thought of when I read your "Hot Coffee" review! It's another documentary about fast food, so I was wondering if you've seen "Food Inc." and if you have, I'd like to see a review!
