Review: In this sequel...yes I said sequel not remake. Go ahead, argue with me. Anyway this is one of the greatest sequel of all time, belongs in the Parthenon of Godfather: Part 2 or Aliens. Incredibly imaginative and fast moving this is a one of a kind masterpiece. Go out and rent it or buy it...just see it.

Story: Hail to the king baby!

Review: Campy and corny, this film feels completely different from the first film in the Evil Dead series. Heck, it's not even a horror film at this point...more of an Action-Adventure film. The film comes off as a crazed mixture of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, Jason and the Argonauts and The Three Stooges. Unfortunately the camp overwhelms the film and the result is a few too many eye rolling moments. Still if you're looking for a wild, lighthearted adventure film...this one is it.

Story: Don't mess with gypsies.

Review: Basically the closest thing we've got to Evil Dead 4, was easily the most entertaining film experience I had last year. A well meaning bank employee manages to piss off an old Gypsy and get a nasty curse put on her. The film provides a good amount of scares and its fair share of laughs. Alison Lohman does an amazing job in her role. I have to say it's nice to have Raimi back in the horror genre.

Story: A PI is hired by a mysterious man to find some guy.

Review: In this dark Neo-Noir we see Mickey Rourke back when he was good looking. The story is a gruff private investigator is hired by this weird and mysterious man to find someone. Our protagonist soon finds himself neck deep with Satanic Cults, voodoo rituals and everyone he speaks with eventually turn up dead. Interesting film is kind of undone by its twist ending. Still worth a watch.

Story: Are you here for an affair, sir?

Review: I thank my lucky stars that I'm lined up to go to graduate school, only because it will prolong the inevitability of my life mirroring the plot of this film. The story is simple, Dustin Hoffman's character has just graduated from college and his life is at a standstill. He doesn't want to start working nor does he want to go back to college and to make thing more complicated the wife of his fathers business partner is trying to seduce him. The film was pretty profound in its day, but still resonates quite well today. Also has an amazing soundtrack by Simon & Garfunkel.

Story: Massive gangs, assassins, kung fu masters and slap shtick.

Review: Funny and imaginative spoof about a massive gang duking it out with an older couple who own a local slum. This film is beautifully shot and as I said before wildly imaginative. Yes, the humor does get really stupid at times, but overall it's an entertaining experience.

Review: It's difficult to explain this one. I saw it once a couple of years ago and thought it was just ok. I know it's a big cult film and all, but this didn't click with me...and it's not because I didn't get the plot. Maybe I need to give it another view down the road...but as it stands...

Story: The most confusing film I've ever seen.

Review: I take pride in admitting that I only understand 2/3 of this film after one sitting. That's right, only 66%...it's that crazy of a plot. It's also one of the cheapest films ever made...with a $7000 budget and get this, it doesn't look like it. The film basically attempts bring time travel and all of its paradoxes into the real world with confusing results. The writer/director/star of the film was an engineer before making this and it shows. Only for the adventurous film goers.

Story: The story of how Batman became Batman.

Review: Entertaining reboot of Caped-Crusader and one the does justice to the source material. The Nolans' script is a little hit or miss and the romantic subplot between Bale and Holmes is just terrible. Still in comparison to Batman & Robin this is a masterpiece...so I guess we are moving in the right direction.

Story: At one point during the movie a moose charges out of a forest while engulfed in flames. The moose lets out a crazy howl of anger...once again while on fire. This is the most entertaining portion of the film.

Review: This film is terrible, I mean like really bad. It's one of two film I've seen where I felt the need to flick off the screen at the end of the film, the other being Transformers 2. The story is basically Nicolas Cage's son finds a piece of paper in a time-capsule that was buried some 50 years earlier at the kids school. Upon further examination, Cage figures out that written on this piece of paper is every disaster that happened in the last 50 years; when they happened, how many died and where they were located. All the disasters are accounted for except three, the final being the apocalypse. As Cage digs further we are treated to one of the most retarded ideas ever committed to film...oh SPOILER HERE
Aliens predicted the disasters and are going to rescues a couple hundred children from the apocalypse and deposit them on an alien planet.

Sorry, I felt the need to some up the plot a little bit. Though I don't think I did justice in explaining just how bad this film is. There is one or two scenes of brilliance. One is near the end of the film we watch society breaking down to the tune of Beethoven's 7th symphony 2nd movement.

Story: A nameless soldier recounts his exploits to the King.

Review: Breathtaking Wire-Fu epic told in a Rashomon like style. I'm not to sure how well the story is known, but to avoid spoiling it...I'm going skip the plot summary. Beautifully shot with amazing use of colors and incredibly well put together.

Story: A-holes to the rescue.

Review: The story of Bernie LaPlante, played by Dustin Hoffman, who is a pickpocket and a grifter...all around not a good person. One day LaPlante is with his estranged son when out of no where a plane crashes near him. In a act of selfless heroism, LaPlante run to the crash site and starts rescuing people. He gives no one his name and just goes home, not wanting to get involved. The story gets going when one of the people he rescues, a local TV news anchor, wants to turn her savior into a celebrity. A fun lighthearted drama about a person who one the surface seems terrible, but on the inside is truly a nice guys. The film is well put together and well acted.

Story: The story of a young man who; gets shot in the butt...dies, meets god, comes back to life, gets into a car chase and winds up getting swallowed by a whale.

Review: Weird and deeply metaphoric Anime film that explores second chances and the possibility of redemption. Definitely not for all tastes, there is little action and the pacing is pretty slow...but in the end it's pretty rewarding.
