Title: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Story: "We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold."

Review: I've read a lot of Thompson's work over the years and this story is by far and away the most insane that he has written. It beats the time he went the the Kentucky Derby and it beats the time he got the crap kicked out of him by the Hells Angles. This story is pretty much the apex of Thompson's career...even though Thompson considered it a failure of his brand of journalism.

The story follow a journalist Raoul Duke, who is Thompson and is played by Depp, and his attorney Dr. Gonzo, who is Oscar Acosta and is played by del Toro. These two character go out to Las Vegas to find the American dream and if possible cover a motorcycle race, which was the actual reason why they went on this trip. Accompanying them on this trip was, "...two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a saltshaker half-full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... Also, a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether, and two dozen amyls."

The film was shot almost entirely in wide angle, which gives the film its hallucinatory look...and I've let this review go on for too long.

Story: The Seven Samurai, for kids...or more like the Three Amigos

Review: The second in the endless stream of Pixar hits follow an ant who goes out to hire a group of "warriors" to go save his colony from a group a malicious grasshoppers. It's a well told tale with great animation from Pixar. The voice acting is top notch, Dennis Leary is my personal favorite of the group playing a Macho Ladybug. Like almost all of Pixar's films this is recommended.

Story: Brendan Fraser battles an ancient evil.

Review: Do you know what sounds like a terrible idea? If you guess remaking The Mummy with Brendan Fraser...then you'd be right. But guess what, it's not that bad of a film. It's not that great of a film either, I guess it's just an alright film. The plot is pretty obvious from the title, the protagonist wakes a Mummy and he has to stop it...not much else to it. Action wise, it's pretty good, there is a good amount of action scenes in the film. Script wise, not that great, sure it manages to be funny from time to time...but overall mediocre. If it's on TNT or something then give a watch, but I would actively seek it out.

Story: "There's enough C4 on this bus to blow a hole in the Earth."

Review: Pop quiz hot shot, there is a bomb on a bus, if the bus goes under 50 mph then the bus will explode...the question: Is this movie entertaining enough for us to care? The answer: Yeah, well I'm taller...wait what? This film has easily some of the most hilariously bad dialog out there, but because of that it's damn fun to quote. Trust me when I say this: Speed is one of the most entertaining dumb action films ever.

Story: It's like The Mummy...just not as good and a child is involved.

Review: For the life of me, I've never been able to understand why film makers think it's a good idea to add a child to a film when making a sequel. There really isn't a need for the kid in this movie, but yet they added him. It's not just this film either, Indiana Jones had one and Star Wars had a lot of em in the prequels...and guess what...IT NEVER HELPS THE FILM! Oh, and this film sucks really really hard.

Review: This movie is for the 3 people out there who saw The Mummy Returns and thought...hey look it's the rock I wonder how he turned into a random scorpion beast thing. Well guess what, this one is actually alright, better than the first two...but still not that great...and that's all I feel like saying about this one.

it was "ok" but it was waaaaaaaaaaay better than the mummy tomb of the dragon emperor
"Ok, this time they're in china and they're like "Oh no! we gotta kill the emperor mummy before he takes over the world" and they'll visit the hidden and mystic areas of china like Shangri la and fight with yetis"
