Review: This film is currently at the top of IMDB's 250 list, which means that in some circles, this is the best film ever made....well it isn't. It's a good movie with some great performances from Freedman and Robbins. Also it's well shot.

Story: A group of friends go out to a cabin in the middle of no where and guess what! Bad things happen.

Review: I guess this one of those love it or hate it kind of films and I fall kind of in the former. Roth is a divisive figure in the American horror genre, he has received a lot of hate for his Hostel films...and much of it deserved. Cabin Fever though is an entertaining film that's in the same vein as the Evil Dead films. It's gory, weird and at times funny. Approach with caution and expect it to be terrible, that way if you like it, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Because I know I'll eventually be asked to review Hostel, I feel that I need to review this first.

Story: "Listen, when you're giving pain to someone, don't think about the pain that person is feeling. Just concentrate on how good it feels to be causing someone pain. That's the best thing you can do for a true masochist!"

Review: Miike is an interesting director, mostly because he is one of the most prolific ones out there. In the year 2001 he directed seven films...that's right seven. Of course out of those seven films only two were noticed by people out of Japan and out of those two, only one has gained international infamy. That film is Ichi the Killer.

This one is definitely not for everyone, but yet I think of it as a measuring stick for judging someones tolerances level for crazy horrific crap. If you can make it through this film, then chances are you can make it through just about anything. So even though I cannot in good conscious recommend this film to anyone...I still think if you are adventurous enough, that you should probably rent it.

Story: Kids grow up and childhood toys get forgotten.

Review: Pixar is brilliant. That's all that needs to be said when it comes to the toy story series. If you were born the right year then Toy Story is about you...that's right, you. My brother was five when the first Toy Story came out and eight when the second one came out, pretty much the same age as the kid in the movie. Guess what my brother is doing in the fall. He's going off to college, exactly what the kid is doing in the new movie. So if you were born in the years 1990-92, then the series is about you. Congrats!!!!

Anyway, this movie...is once again up the usual Pixar standards of excellence. That all I need to say with Pixar films...they are kind of boring to review.

The Iron Giant is incredible. Its such an unappreciated film. I've only seen it once but it left such an impression on me.

I completely agree with the Toy Story thing. I was born in 1990 so my life has pretty much followed the themes in Toy Story all the way through.

Are you saying Pixar films are boring to review because they're all fantastic?? or is just more boring because it's harder to pick apart the roles and what not?

It's because they're all fantastic...and reviewing them just seem formulaic. First I talk about the plot and whatever parallels that it has to other films. Then I state how great the animation is and how great the voice actors are. Then I'll pick my favorite voice actor and give the film an 8ish or 9ish.

Though I've heard that Cars was mediocre, but I haven't seen it...so I can't elaborate.

I don't think it was mediocre it just wasn't typical Pixar brilliance.

Its like comparing Kanye West's 808's and Heartbreak to Late Registration or College Dropout. It wasn't amazing but it was good.

Pretty much.

What is your opinion on The Hunt for Red October. I love John McTiernan, how could I not? He directed the greatest action movie of all time. As well as Predator and The Last Action Hero. I also like this one a lot. Whats your take on it.

Story: Sean Connery is a Russian...hahahaha

Review: Smart thriller about a Russian submarine captain who wants to defect to the U.S. One problem with that, he want's to give Russia's new shiny super secret submarine as a gift to his new government. It's a tightly told story with very little waste in the story telling. The film is also well shot and well acted. Definitely and do yourself a favor and see this one.
