Alright here's the deal, i could sell my current 260 for about $150 . Put another $200 on top and i've gotta 470. Whats everyone think? Is this upgrade worth it?

Definitely.

Of course waiting a few months for the price to drop is always an option, but we've waited long enough for them to even come out.

Probably. Depends on your resolution/ what games you play.
You won't notice the difference in most Source games.

i have a gtx260 too.. and im drooling about the gtx 470 ..the prob is my card isnt even a year old yet ..damn cpu parts!!!!

i have 2x 260 GTX man to blow another $375+ for new vid card ouch i do want the new 400 series

Yeah, with a single 260 you should be fine for now. My 275 gobbles anything and everything thrown at it.

Yea im mostly TF2 ... like all the time. However i did purchase BFBC2 which would be a good title to use it on though the 260 handles it pretty damn good, much better than i had expected. Plus i do folding and the 470 would do some pretty crazy things at that. Plus GTX 470 in my sig would look awesome along with the 260 for Physix. I am already seeing prices go up on Newegg. The EVGA 470 WAS 349, now its upto 369. I already know prices are gonna take a while to drop so thats not even a concern. Concern now is availability. Thanks for the advice all.

I think they're going to have another rev for the 400 cards in the summer that will drop in price. So wait for that.

Well since all you play is TF2, and your 260 handles BC2 just fine, I'd say hold off until you need a new GPU.

AND FFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU I don't want 470's to go up in price.

I doubt they will, I expect ATI to start lowering prices on everything soon too. No reason why they wouldn't.

However, i would love to reap the DX11 benefits of the 470 while playing BFBC2.

Gbear, where did you hear of the new revision coming summer?

I'll have to look again. I check tech news (Tomshardware, Gizmodo, Engadget) basically every 20 minutes at work LOL.

 you people with your super high priced cards. I picked up a 9500 GT for $50 last year and it runs any of the newest games on Medium-High at about 40-50 FPS. Awesome!

People that buy "super high priced cards" (usually) have a need for them.
I need one for awesome 1080p performance on any game.

I dont really think $349 is "super high priced" , now dudes selling 5970's on ebay for $1000 is. look up the 470's on ebay and see what people selling em for right now. I've mentioned before , i recently picked up an 8800 GTS 512 for $60 . This is the one with 128 cuda cores on a 65nm process, same as the early 200 series. Whenever the new revision comes out , the 40nm 470 will drop in price, then im gonna HAVE to have the new revision . Could always buy the 40nm now, sell it when the new rev comes out and pay a few bucks on top just as i did with my 920 to 930 rig. Worked out awesome. And i mean AWESOME.
